As usual, this thing is really simple:
- Sex is biological, and there are two, with very, very few outliers. Humans are considered bipeds, meaning they walk upright on two legs, making them the only primate that primarily moves this way; this is a defining characteristic of human evolution. If we see someone born with one leg or a leg is amputated, we don't suddenly conclude that humans are now considered unipeds. Exceptions don't disprove the rule.
- I can accept that gender is a social construct that can be on a spectrum. But believing one to be the gender other than that they were born with is a mental disorder, and it was diagnosed as such until recently. Gender dysphoria.
- It should be continued to be dealt with as a mental disorder.
- The USA is the only country in the world that allows the mutilation of minors to "resolve" their mental issue. The only one. We shouldn't be one.
- If I am meeting someone who is holding themselves out to be the gender other than what they look like, I will be respectful and call them Mr. or Mrs., whichever way they are trying to go - because I am a nice guy and not an asshole.
- If I accidentally don't call someone the gender they think they are, I will not be shamed—it wasn't on purpose. Accidents happen when you hear someone who looks like a woman sounding like a man. I have better things to do in my life than to try to figure out someone's perceived gender—I've made that mistake with a client on the phone, and I didn't care.
- Men acting like women should not participate against women in sports. We divided women and men into different categories for sports and have done so for a long, long time. The reasons are obvious and valid then and are valid now.
- I will not use made-up words like "cis," "zir," or "aardvark" to make someone else feel good. I just don't care enough or have enough time to waste on doing so.
It's this simple.
