NCAA24 Boycott

i don't care.. if they boycott, pay the ones who cross over.. and release the game.. Seriously..we don't care. Give is the stadiums, uniforms and fight songs of our schools..

Yep.

As someone said before, Dynasty mode is what I play most. The real players would be cycled out in a few years anyway for AI created players. So I could give a fuck less if the original rosters have real names or not.

wasn't the most popular feature the Dynasty mode? After a few hours you'll be cycling AI generated names anyways
I thought the most popular feature was turning off trade evaluators and stacking your favorite team with the top rated players from all the other teams and then truck-sticking everyone on your schedule until you get tired of winning 128-0 and start inventing new tasks like holding everyone to negative rushing yards for an entire season.

Or is that just me?

I can take that off your hands if you want? :pray:

It's also worth over $100 today since it's the last game and ppl have mod the game better than anything EA can put together

I remember playing it with him a few times, but I'm not good at using multiple buttons. I can play things like Mario Bros on the old Nintendo's with just 4 buttons. LOL

He and his buddies figured out they could play each other online so he took his xBox and disappeared to his bedroom. That was fine with me because it gave me back my living room TV.

They also had updated rosters online to download. iirc it was an LSU fan that did all the work updating the rosters year-to-year.

I doubt he'd want to sell the disk, but I'll ask.

Only reason I still had a console until 2014 was because of the NCAA game. The only game I even played anymore.

This is why I have't bothered getting a PS4 or PS5.

I've played Madden with friends though, and I think it's horrible. The big worry for me is that they create the new NCAA game just like Madden is now and it's just awful.
NCAA 14 is 100x better than what EA is putting out now of days.
All you need is the updated roster which ppl still put together every year

There are so many college players. Maybe give them $1000? But anything else seems excessive considering how many players they are to split the pot with. 500-100 seems fair though, for literally doing nothing.

Totally agree. I've had a itch to play so have been thinking about buying a PS3 and forking over the $100 or whatever they are getting for copies of NCAA 14 now. Me and my buddy had a online dynasty going through like 2018. Is online still supported like that now?

Online still supported, it's just finding a legit NCAA 14 copy is the tricky part, lot of scammers out there.
For me I'm sticking to NCAA 13

Yes. Looks like a Gopher took over the updates.

sMaybe D2 and D3 aren't there, and if they are would be smartest to just use fake names and likeness for those kids. But I also think the video game market has exploded since 2014. Average PS5 game feels like it is $70 now, and they would likely presale 2m just based on how these EA games go.
The video game market has exploded, but that is for games like a Fortnite, Call of Duty and 1st person shooter games like that, where everyone is your market consumer.

Sports related video games loses quite a bit of the market, as females aren't rushing to buy a football game and a ton of kids with no interest in sports at all will have no interest in the game. Also -- CFB and really, football in general, is only popular in the US. So it takes the overwhelming majority of the world out as consumers.

I didn’t play much after college.

But we would always mail a memory card to a dude that had manually entered every name for current rosters.

If a kid passes on the money, his name is going to be used anyway. Just like before.

Quick math based on a single google result on # of CFB players:
D1 = 15,167
D2 = 18,889
D3 = 25,709
source: how many college football players are there - GameDay Culture

I doubt many are buying the game to play as D2 and even fewer to play as D3. So I could see something like $3k for D1, $1k for D2, and $500 for D3.

EA would be on the hook to pay out about $75m under those numbers if they got every player onboard.

Here is an old study, but still seems like relevant numbers, on what revenue could look like for a CFB game with players

Probably need to adjust the D1 number down by about half, but there is a pathway here for the players and EA to make a ton of money. In the first year alone the sales would be through the roof. Only diehard video game fans buy every iteration of the EA franchises because they are mostly the same game.
Last I played the game (quite a while ago) the FCS schools on the game were generic. Maybe they have those schools and actually want real players on them but that'd kind of surprise me.

Think NCAA 06 is still my favorite NCAA game they ever made. Though I was a teenager then so maybe the fond memories are just associated with younger days.

it was an awesome game. Only NCAA game with an actual soundtrack and it was great (Pixies, NOFX, Bad Religion, Jawbreaker, Superchunk to name a few).

Yes that was one of the best parts about it was having a actual soundtrack and yes it was a good one.

This is stupid. They aren't going to offer much more than that for everyone and probably aren't going to try and make deals with star players for more money. When I was an undergrad a $500 scholarship was cool and this is basically that. For 70% of D1 players it's free money they otherwise wouldn't see. If they can negotiate for a little more great but don't look a blind horse in the mouth on this one.

You mean a gift horse?

How much are NFL guys getting?

the pre-3rd generation console games usually featured FCS teams. It took teambuilder to add those teams in the newer games.

I think NCAA 08 for PS2/XBOX was the last one that had specific FCS teams.

After that you just got the generic "FCS West" "FCS East" filler teams if you wanted to put them on your schedule.
