Nebraska Sell Out Streak

That's your upper lip
My upper lip smells like a former blue blood program desperately clinging to the last bit of nonsense that almost makes them relevant?

I’m not miserable. I’m trying to help you, but you guys appear to be beyond help. I honestly don’t know how you do it, but you soldier on.

Yes you are.

Seek professional help and be honest with them. Tell them you're "Upset that Nebraska donors bought tickets and gave them to kids to keep a sell-out streak going".

Report back what said professional replies.

I'm guessing they'll tell you you're simply misdirecting your misery in the wrong places and that you need to get in touch with your emotions.

uhhh. Yes you are. You're at very minimum attempting to build your self esteem.

Is it wealth envy of the donors who aren't giving their money where you think they should?
Is it that they get charitable tax deductions so they're "Not paying their fair share"?

Taking the time to scream and pout over tickets being sold to donors that puts gate attendance over actual capacity is certainly a self esteem issue on your part. That's what's pathetic.

The real question is where would your misery be focused if you didn't have this thread to vent it?
He's probably miserable due to paper straws.

Will the local businesses keep this up all year, or will they need to start handing out a pair of tickets with every purchase of a single ear of corn to keep it going?

To be fair many want to see it end to force the boosters and school to change.

Even if it ended today it would take the next active streak 40 years to surpass us, well past anyone remembering or giving a shit so it's really whatever.

I think it's used more like an approval rating than anything

For real, you need to thin the herd sometimes. Once you need to artificially prop up a sellout streak, it’s time to just let it happen.

i think the reason the streak is being made such a big deal of is because of how terrible the state of the program is, what has happened with the ticket sales is no different than any other year (and it happens at all schools) it is just because of current events it has been fluffed about

Fordham was the only game that hadn't sold-out. All 'season tickets' and extras (to capacity) to other games were sold out last May.

Nebraska sells more tickets than the actual official capacity. I'd imagine actual capacity tickets to Fordham were sold. These are 'extra' tickets. It's the athletic dept maximizing revenue.

I can get on 'Market Place' and buy tickets to this game that are someone's 'season tickets'. Season Ticket holders don't go to every game. They have other things going on in their lives that they can't go to every game. Weddings, travel, other family stuff, etc.

Pretty much. This is more indicative of the fans becoming apathetic than anything. People are tired of being hopeful only to be shattered in the first few weeks of football.

1620 nailed the feeling/sentiment the other day when they said it feels like were at thanksgiving already with how terrible we started off the season, same show weve seen before. It will take massive improvement to change that feeling

Since they now have to give tickets away to get people to attend, maybe we should be calling it a giveout streak.
