New SEC Alignment

They haven't ... Saban just doesn't like his 3. He's trying to get LSU off and MSU on. Candidly, the MSU game is a good one .. they are just a little over an hour apart.
He is a freaking cry baby. He has every advantage in the world and cry’s for a rule change every time he loses a game.

Well, he’s so great it is NEVER his fault when Bama loses a game. So the reason for the loss has to be the rules, his assistants, his players, his trainers, the fans,……..

So if they go to an 8 game conference schedule.. Will it be divisions or just going to be the 1-7-7 model? BTW I do think this is a brilliant negotiating ploy by the Sankey. Obviously UT one permanent game will be ou not aggy.. but after over a decade plus of them not playing each other.. ESPN really gonna risk them not resuming the series? It's going to get terrific ratings

I have heard 1-7-7 as most likely but who knows. I get the vibe that 9 will eventually be the direction but 2024 could be awkward.

awkward? perhaps for the current sec schools.. but not for UT and ou.. they are gonna be selling out on the road next season.. some schools act like they don't want us there but you'll see them grasping for tickets and seeing it's local economy get fat on those weekends

I mean from scheduling stand point. There could be some hybrid schedule for a year or two.

Like they don't already sell out when Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee come to town.

If we can put up any kind of fight at all, people will probably want to watch the first year.

ESPN probably is banking on that.

Wow, if true Alabama has switched camp to 8 game schedule. UK was always in that camp and the leader of it in the past
Big surprise that little bitch Saban “supported” a 9 game schedule until it was a possibility then he flipped the script because “reasons”. God he’s the biggest pussy.

It doesn't really matter because once UT and ou officially come on board, they both will be voting for a 9 game conference.. Those other schools better get in gear.. 9 game conference games is where it should have always been

We're going to have to give you some tutoring in order for you to obtain an SEC Homer Card. Here's your first lesson.

"Nine games is too many when you have to play teams as difficult as the SEC has.

you are correct.. we should play UGA just once in 9 years too

Listening to SEC this morning on SiriusXM.. lol they are calling the schools who want 8 games instead of 9..losers lol. So far it seems everyone wants the 9 games for sure.. I get why it might not happen in '24 unless ESPN pays extra for it

This goes for all mega-conferences.

How can you call yourself conference champ if you don't play half the teams in the conference.

I find it interesting that fans aren’t clamoring for teams to play ALL the other teams in their conference on a very frequent basis.

I guess they only clamor for it depends on what the name of the conference opponent is. I guess the rusty cow and agnut faithful are fine if their beloved teams don’t rotate around to Vandy or Mizzou but would throw a shit fit if the didn’t get to play Bama or Florida frequently!

Yeah i mean, this was one of the bigger sells of going to the SEC.. get to play other marquee schools.. I get we can't play EVERYONE every season due to the number of schools..but being able to play everyone home and home within 4 years is good enough. Divisions suck

Starting to hear a one year 8 game plan that might have more than 1 permanent opponent, redo in 2024 season. Sounds like they many be kicking it down the road for a year. Maybe see of ESPN is more open next year?

I’m thinking that’s what will happen. Most of this just seems like posturing for no reason.

ESPN is going to pony up.

Bama is going to have to live with the LSU game.

The teams that are worried about bowl eligibility are just pathetic.

A lot of these teams are just trying to kick the can down the road as far as they can. At some point the road will end.

just move bama and auburn to the east..

Big12 South with 8 schools
SEC East with 8 schools.. wonder how they'll pair up the one cross divisional game.. I'm sure Nick will want MSU
