I'm pretty sure she's dead. I'll have to re-watch the episode, but if I remember correctly, she was in a coma and Dexter turned off her life support because if she woke up, she'd be a vegetable.

but maybe he was just daydreaming that. Didn't somebody come back from the dead on that show "Dallas" ?

No idea. Never watched Dallas.

If I remember correctly, there was some talk that she would be in the new series. But I don't remember seeing whether it would be flashbacks or some storyline where it turned out she wasn't really dead. Her being in a coma creates the possibility that it was something she "dreamed" while in a coma.

I'd think they'd have to include her in the new series in some capacity. She was a pretty important character. lol
