one of the most ridiculous single game performances ever. Not sure what other hitting performances compare without looking (Shawn Green's 4 homer game?) , but it feels like it's in the same pantheon as the Clemens/Wood 20 K games, Randy Johnson's

Adding on the creating the 50-50 club this might be the greatest single game performance ever.

And now they’re saying he might pitch in the post season.

If a DH is gonna win MVP without also pitching, I can’t complain if it’s a 50-50 season.

Too bad he had to taint this accomplishment by doing it in a Dodgers uniform.
Don't worry. He'll never win a championship because of his greed for money. The Dan Marino of MLB.

Feels like yesterday might have locked up MVP for him. Only person remotely close to him in WAR is Lindor, who's having an awesome year (135 wRC+, 7.4 WAR; Ohtani has 7.7) but his traditional stats might make him get overlooked by old school voters and fans.

If I had a vote, I’d give it to Lindor. Playing great defense at short while being great with the bat is more valuable than a DH could possibly be IMO, but I don’t have a vote and Ohtani has had the best DH season ever, so can’t really complain

Ohtanis night is probably the greatest performance in the history MLB.....

Not only did he get to 50/50 as the first ever, his 10 rbis as a leadoff hitter was the most ever since rbis became a stat in 1920 and his 5 xbh in a game ties the record for the most since 1901......

If someone was to hit that 50/50,they are gonna have to get to 51/51 or better to break it.......

crazy

There was a fan that had the ball bounce off his fingertips to catch that ball as it dropped into the bullpen.......
Ballwould have been worth a nice fortune......unless he gave it back...

Myself,Im selling after a couple of days......heck with giving back to the players, they are making millions and we help pay their salaries....

They just helped me out.

As for best game ever, Tony Cloninger pitched a complete game and hit two grand slams in the same game. Get in line, son

Yesterday, Shohei Ohtani became the first ever member of the 50-50 club, fifty homers and fifty stolen bases in one season. He blasted past the landmark, in fact.
He had 10 rbi’s over 6 hits including a single, two doubles, and three home runs. He also stole two bases.
Only three people have ever even had two doubles and three homers in a single game. He helped the Dodgers clinch a postseason berth on this day. He also set the Dodgers single season home run record on this day.
No MLB player has ever had *over the course of his entire career*:
• a game with 10+ RBI
• a game with 6+ hits
• a game with 5+ XBH
• a game with 3+ HR
• a game with 2+ SB
Shohei Ohtani did all of that in a single game.
He set a new single-season landmark in baseball… and he did it having the greatest game in baseball history.

Thats not greatest game ever if thats what youre insinuating.......

Pitching a complete game back in the 60s was very common.....thats not amazing.......I think Denny McClain had 30 complete games one time.

But to hit 2 grand slams in one game is amazing......hes the only one to ever do it....
I have not looked it up,but Id have to say for a pitcher that record will stand forever the way coaches have pitchers on pitch counts....

Some of these feats are about circumstance not skill. The batter can't control how many men there are on base when he comes to the plate.

Joe Adcock missed 5 HRs by just a few feet. Hit 4 out (off of 4 different Brooklyn pitchers) and a double high off the wall.

I'm assuming you meant that he's the only pitcher to do it? It's been done a number of times.

I had him on the Braves all time team as the first baseman before Freddie came along

I probably should have written "as well as skill" here but it's too late to edit now.
