Ohtani • Dodgers • $700M • 10yrs

Cubs play 4d chess and make dodgers blow their wad.

Wonder who will be the first billion dollar player. Probably happen in the next 10-20 years.

no way he plays out that contract. He probably won't even pitch again.

Yep. But it's baseball, sports' biggest example of dumb contracts that won't win championships.

My guess is, less than 10 starts in the next 2 years. It'll become a gimmick whenever he pitches. Even more so, now that there is the universal DH.

How long before he is required to get terrible neck tattoos and get charged with domestic abuse ?

A bunch of fucking haters.

LOL.

Maybe he'll get lucky and something will shrink the season down to 80 games because we all know the Dodgers won't win it all in a 162 game season.

Yes, and how have mega contracts worked for the Dodgers? Is Magic Johnson still a part of that ownership group? It has his greasy fingerprint all over it.

Seems odd if true

Isn't this shit what torpedoed the NHL a few years ago? They just signed these goofy contracts for like 15 years or whatever?

There's going to have to be some sort of maximum deferral percentage for free agent contracts.

By those years, the “salary cap” will be much higher because all the teams will have Sports Books, and the pool of revenue will be much much bigger… leading to a renegotiated “salary cap.”
Also, by then, President Chelsea Clinton will have destroyed the moon and devalued the dollar.
