Oklahoma poised to become South Carolina West

OU leads in the Country in field posisiton but can't score. JFA is either being tackled or has to scramble as soon as he gets the ball. Defense is so good it's a shame. OU has done a complete 180 lol.
So OU has turned into 2023 Iowa? Seth channeling his inner Brian Ferenz? Your punter will be your MVP? Bet the under every game?

We need answers bone!

I mean OU has way more talent on offense than that Iowa team but injuries are mounting. Still I'd rather win 15-12 than 56-51 like the old days.

And who knew on top of a much harder conference schedule that the OU vs Tulane game would be tougher than texas game with Michigan. :dhd:

Here’s what I don’t get. And you referred to it in the earlier post. Why the hesitancy in playing freshman.

Injuries are just part of it. But I don’t understand the “woe is us” for the schools that recruit at high levels. Play the young ‘ens dammit. Better to HAVE to play a 5* freshman OT because of injuries than a team that only has 2-3* freshman to play.

They played over 80 players in the first game.

:noidea:

Pettaway is fast too so why not try him? Same on the Oline. They are afraid to play the freshman for some reason. EPL is a beast! Play him!

I'm not doubting that at all. I'm sure many of those were on special teams but that is still a positive number IMO.

But I was responding to Wishbone's comment above. It seems many are reluctant to play freshman...even 4-5*. I understand a lot of them "aren't ready for major college football" but if the injury bug bites..............

When his kid is born, he will somehow skip right being a grandparent

I'll bite. No Schmitty is not the reason. Shit happens like you know at running back. We are down 4 wide receivers but OU is very deep there. They are just not playing the best available. I mean Brennan Thompson is fast but if he can't catch the ball what good is it? Pettaway is fast too so why not try him? Same on the Oline. They are afraid to play the freshman for some reason. so... it's a coaching issue?? lol sooner fans on twitter were telling me Emmit Jones was the top WR coach outside the guy in Columbus.. My Horns are down 2 RBs (one which was the starter) and they still avg over a 100 yards on the ground..

LOL always comparing everything to us.. but since you are comparing..

that tough UH team you faced.. scored a TD vs UNLV in week one... in garbage time in the 4th already down 27pts.. with a minute to go in the game

Temple got trounced by Navy.. and would have had the same amount of scored pts they had vs ou if not for a garbage time TD in the 4th qtr (which they were trailing 38-3 at the time)..

But yeah lets go ahead and assume those were tougher than Michigan..

I agree though, play the young guys.. y'all punting this season anyways (cause of the injuries lol).. so much for BV being a year ahead of Sark aye??

I'm just saying that Tulane is probably better than Michigan right now. Temple and Houston are straight up garbage. And Houston gave you a game last year 31-24.

yeah you might want to see the differences between UH this year and UH last year....

No question the OU schedule is harder than that of Texas. What people don’t realize is why. The SEC set the conference schedules based on team strengths over the last decade. Texas got their schedule because they have basically sucked over the last decade. Bama, Georgia, OU and LSU got tougher schedules. Just how they did it.

Oddly enough, Oklahoma has never played Mississippi State.
It’s gonna happen

So South Carolina has been a really really good team over the past decade. So proud of my boys!

3-0 with College Gameday in Norman next week.

More like Oklahoma becomes Arkansas.

At least South Carolina is a wonderful location, is sandwiched between some big recruiting states. Arkansas and Oklahoma are this vast wasteland of nothingness. Oklahoma's weird obsession with following Texas for everything has finally bit them in the ass and it's going to slowly kill their program. They should've stayed in the Big12 and let Texas go into the SEC waters.
