The events over the weekend reminded me of 2003. It was on my birthday in November. Beautiful warm sunny day. I was painting the nursery because my kids were due in late Dec/Jan and I had the windows open. I started hearing tornado sirens going off and just assumed it was a test because there was nothing to indicate a storm.

Boy was I wrong
Was it a German air raid?

Expecting sustained winds of around 70 mph this afternoon. Saw a forecast with a 100% chance or rain and possible tornadoes. I wouldn't want to be hauling a semi near here today. I'd sit this one out.

Get your popcorn ready.

Inland hurricane

I would assume that this is an "abundance of caution" move after seeing the devastation in Illinois and Kentucky this past week.

I mean, if you're going to die in a tornado, do it with the people you love the most

Middle school and high school kids being sent home early as a precaution

The howl from the wind is going to drive me nuts. Turning up the speakers.
