I prefer Windsday .....the day my curbside trash can ends up blocks away....We call that a Wednesday in Nebraska
I missed the bad part. I was looking at radar this afternoon and figured it would die down by the time it got to me but at 5 there were tornado warnings to my SW (bad place to be for tornado warnings) and the storm was headed my direction at 80 mph.
It's weird. Normally that is time to go outside and see for yourself but it was dark and the storm was bearing down so I went to the basement. The front was uneventful. Basically a standard thunderstorm. Lotta rain and lighting but the wind wasn't that bad and no tornado warnings. Honestly I kind of forgot about it but the wind is nuts right now. I'd guess 30 mph straight winds with 50 mph gusts. Literally half of what we were expecting but it's still pretty big. When the front hit I was expecting wind then but it didn't happen. Now I look outside and it's really gusting.
I had two big trees on my boulevard that died a few years ago. At the time it sucked because they were on the east side of my house and were perfect for shade in the summer. Right now I'm glad because those fuckers would have come down in this wind and I'd have roof damage tomorrow.
My ex has the kids tonight and earlier when I talked to her she was taking them to a friend's house with a basement. They are fine but 4 hours ago driving there she said their were limbs down. I can only imagine how many are down now.
They all ended up in my yard.Best part is that my yard is now clear of leaves. My lower back thanks you.

Right?! Gimme that earthshake 8 days a week over this booshit! At least it's pretty much over in a few seconds. These 'naders warn you for hours ahead of time that your house is gonna get ripped off the ground at any moment and people just go on living their lives. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that!
