OREGON to the B1G

I don't think money is ever going to be the barrier. The move will eventually pay off; and now teams in dying conferences are getting FOMO. Last thing you want is to be a team on the outside looking in.
I still think money can be a barrier. Just look at Texas who prints its own money. They're still staying in the big12 for an extra season because of the additional cost. But if these $300 mil rumors are true, that's possibly a wash financially because of the added revenue from the Big compared to the ACC. And again, the new tv deal is happening for the Big in a few years. This will only increase the gap between the two conferences. So i do think the FOMO is a legitimate reason to leave. Staying in the dying ACC and not knowing if one of these bigger conferences will take you in 10+ years is a scary position for these schools.

But I'm just a simpleton looking at the simpleton math and acknowledge i don't know the logistics of it all. I'm sure its a lot more complicated than this and leads me to think it ain't happening.

I think that's the limit to what money can do, just delay it. They might join and say they're joining in "2030" or something like that. IE lock up their spot now. But the amount of money they'll be making the B10 vs. the ACC will potentially offset most, if not all, of their losses by leaving.

I've considered this, and agree it's the only possibility right now that makes any sense for any ACC team to "leave now". Announce it will happen sometime years down the road, and wait for that date.

Well, they might be saying "we are going to wait to see what happens in the PAC" but just by putting this out into the media, it will accelerate what the PAC schools are going to do.

My guess is that the 3 corner schools that are left are going to wait until that second meeting as a courtesy to the other schools and when it becomes apparent in that meeting the new deal isn't going to work they will with "great sorrow be left with no choice" but join the Big 12.

Then we will see what the B1G does and who they want to take.

On another note, this is WAAAAAAY more believable than the FSU/Clemson rumors.
