OREGON to the B1G

They should force Rutgers upon Oregon as a "rival" just so we can watch the comedy of OD trying to hype up Rutgers as a worthy rival every year.

The Washington and Oregon rivalry game will continue on Thanksgiving weekend. It shall be named the 50% game

Never said it was. Numbers were run on our side with ESPN. We just decided “yeah, nevermind.”

The ACC apparently turned down Oregon and Washington so they could add SMU, Stanford and Cal

My understanding is the ACC met @OregonDucks during the campus tour and balked.

Apparently Oregon hid him in the basement when the B1G visited.

hmmmm. Do you have a credible link to support that?

I have a hard time believing it. I doubt Oregon and Washington would have even entertained the idea of getting into the ACC's GOR through 2036. Not to mention they wanted Big 10 monies and were willing to wait for it.

Turning down Oregon St and Washington St.? Sure I can see that since they don't offer the California and Texas footprints.

Heard from Wake sources at the time that ESPN told the ACC that adding Washington/Oregon wouldn't do anything for them.

Edit: Woops. Looks like this was already discussed.

Wisconsin is the special needs cousin who is family so you have to keep taking care of them even though they are a drain on everyone else
You just described several members of the Power 2 conferences. Like Trust Fund babies.

I gave up trying to figure these dudes out. I got nothing.
The B1G fans is going to have plenty of WTF moments when those idiots start traveling to their campuses. They will fill oceans with the up coming regret.

I'll help you out. The ACC never turned down OR and WA. OR and WA wanted nothing to do with the ACC GOR so that was a non-starter from the beginning.

How does it feel to be less wanted than SMU, Stanford and Cal?

If you really believe the ACC turned down Oregon and Washington, I have some beach front property in Arizona to show you.

I agree with you. Oregon and Washington were never turned down by the ACC. That's not how the process works despite what some others have suggested. The schools approach the conferences if they are interested. Oregon and Washington never approached the ACC.

I completely believe that the ACC would decide that they don’t want to lower their standards.

Standards? We're talking about the same conference that took Louisville, right?

Yes. They decided that was low enough. They couldn’t go any lower. No offense.

I get it. Stanford/Cal/SMU will be great fits for the ACC. Their football atmospheres are almost identical to Duke, Boston College, Virginia, Georgia Tech, etc.
