I hear Mike Haywood is available and out of prison.

Who are you guys hoping for? I honestly almost feel bad for you guys not getting any real discussion about it with OD around

I'm fine with a middling candidate like Wilcox.

Chip would be a risk, but not as big of one as people like to think. He is only now up to full strength with regard to number of scholarship players. He inherited a disaster.

I don't think he wants another disaster.

He also comes $$ free $$ after Jan 15th I believe. His $9 million buyout is eliminated on that day.

I do think if Oregon wants a "name" they're gonna have to pay the new going rate of $7.5 million/10 years.

My feelings with Wilcox when his name was floating around the UW job—he’s not an exciting hire, but a pretty safe one who at least won’t suck, and does have potential, we don’t know what he could do with a program that has some support and a culture that cares.

I dont know if any of the names floated have me all that excited.
but you know me who ever they pick and the nay sayers come around I will find some positive light to shed.

Chris Petersen would be a scary hire as a UW fan. You guys will get a solid coach, I think they learned there lesson by going after Taggert.

Yeah, outside of Chip, there really aren't anymore "names" that appear to be available...but then the "names" that just got hired didn't appear to be available. So who knows?

As long as he stays out of NCAA trouble, I think Chip would be a good hire for Oregon. Seems like Oregon has a lot of the types of players that he likes for his system.

I don’t know why Petersen keeps being tossed out for every open job, he seemed to mean what he said about not wanting to coach. I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s back at some point, but the admin/leadership role he’s moved into seem right up his alley at this point.

Obviously I don’t know the guy, but all evidence points to he’s not the typical college coach personality, and he’s not feeding BS about his intentions.

how do you mean?

You would imagine that Petersen was asked by UW. I'd be shocked if he did a 180 and took the Oregon job.
