If I was Utah and the two Zona schools I'd be sucking the Big 12's dick right now in the hopes of joining that conference. The other PAC schools are a lost cause due to politics.Just heard an Arizona State fan call in and suggest that if the PAC12 fails to agree on a season, Arizona State and Arizona should put their heads together and come up with some way to play.
Take it a step further, maybe have every rivalry in the conference play late in the season?
always forget about those schools when the Pac is brought up, damn shame for them being stuck in that horrible conference. If I was Utah and the two Zona schools I'd be sucking the Big 12's dick right now in the hopes of joining that conference. The lack of interest is because of the poor promoting of the schools. If he had planned out a much better TV deal and had schools playing 4 or 7pm eastern time, the country would be able to see what these teams can do. Since the tv deal is garbage, most of the country rarely sees these teams. Pac12 in the dark is a joke and most of the country are already asleep. USC being good won't help the pac12 until a new TV deal, a better TV deal is reached. That maybe some if the reason but the main issue is the lack of general interest in the specific states. You don't see the fan support that you see with the other leagues with the exception of maybe Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
The Pac12 really needs to have USC good again. USC would be smart to throw the bank at Pete Carroll and bring him back.
If your moving to PA, does it really matter..? Take your #L and streamIt looks like I might be moving to Pennsylvania soon. Is it possible to get PAC 12 Network on the East Coast or is that a lost cause?
I've always like the AZ schools but man they are tied to the hip to whatever Cali does. It'll be up to them to drop it's balls and make the best decision for themselves.. As far as Utah? Hard pass for nowIf I was Utah and the two Zona schools I'd be sucking the Big 12's dick right now in the hopes of joining that conference. The other PAC schools are a lost cause due to politics.
The two Zona schools could give a shit less about California .. other than recruiting maybe. If you've ever been to a UofA board all they talk about is getting out of the conference. ASU not so much but it wouldn't take much to get them to follow UofA to the Big 12.I've always like the AZ schools but man they are tied to the hip to whatever Cali does. I've been wondering about the NFLmyself. (NBA is in the Florida bubble) Why can the Chargers, Rams, 49ers play and not the Cali colleges.I spoke with Ana Mari Cauci (UW President) last night via Facebook and she told me the Cal schools would still have to get the go ahead from the Governor and LA mayor in order to practice. I asked her how the NFL and NBA teams located in Cali manage and she said she'd have to check into it. I was thinking 'wtf lady'.
I think the California system is the one that said no practices right now or something.. I may be wrong but I could have sworn it was them not the Gov who haulted practicesI've been wondering about the NFLmyself. aka preferential treatment, right? The NFL teams have an exemption. The schools would have to apply for the same exemption.
They built that billion dollar stadium, it's the least they can do lolaka preferential treatment, right?

So you're saying non PAC schools don't recruit California kids.Zona schools need California for recruits. California is the primary recruiting area for the West Coast so none of these teams can really compete at a high level without dipping into California. The next closest fertile recruiting ground is Texas.
I see what you're saying but let me ask you this question. Would you rather watch Bama/Arkansas at 6pm on ESPN and ends around 930/10pm or Washington vs Stanford at 11pm on Fox that ends around 2/2:30am.Maybe but the issue is that most the schools have 50k or less stadiums that they cannot even fill. Compare that to the Big10 or SEC with stadiums that are full of 80k - 100k fans. I talk to people on the West Coast and rarely see Pac12 fans or gear outside of forums like this one here. However, if you go to Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, Ohio, etc., you usually see CFB is king, even over the Pros.
The ACC North suffers from the same issues as the Pac12 but they have the Southern Schools to prop them up and give them recruits.
Of course ever conference has their teams that struggle to find fans and recruits:
1. SEC - Vandy and to a degree Kentucky who is focused on bball
2. ACC - Boston College, North Carolina schools (all 4), Syracuse, Pittsburgh (the North Carolina schools mostly because BBall is king).
3. B1G - Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue, Northwestern (I am also tempting to add Wisconsin to this list because I meet people from Wisconsin all of the time and they are big Packers fans but none of them act like the Badgers exist. Still the Badgers have been a power in the modern era)
4. Big12 - Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas (same as UK, focused on bball)
However, with the Pac12, the entire league seems to struggle except the LA schools (sometimes), Oregon, Washington (sometimes), and Utah (sometimes). They don't fill the stadiums or sell merchandise. I don't think it is the Pac12's fault, I just think people on the West Coast are cut from a different cloth.
