GAME PEACH SEMI: #4 tOSU vs #1 UGA • espn • 8ET

And Kirby calling the TO right before the fake punt was the play of the game.

Did you...did you just give Kirby Smart coaching props?!?

Btw I picked Georgia in this game so I literally lost every Ohio State game I picked against the spread this season. Every single one

The ref called the timeout after the ball was snapped.

He may have whistled the timeout after the ball was snapped, but that doesn't matter.
Smart just had to signal to the ref the timeout before the snap.

Not how timeouts work. The timeout is effective the minute he acknowledges it. Think of the coach on the sideline who is counting down with the ref and calls it at 1 second. Takes the ref one second to blow whistle and wave hands … click goes to 0, they reset it.

Batman is widely regarded as a buffoon, so he doesn't know the rule.

Ryan Day 1-3 in the CFP.

This is supposed to be the sequence:
Ref hears/sees time out signal.
Ref checks to make sure the person who called the time out is allowed to do so.
Ref then checks to see if the ball has been put in play. <=== The ref did not do this step.
If not, blows the whistle and waves like a parade princess. <=== The ref did this, even though the ball was already in play.
If the ball is already in play, the time out is not granted.

Pure speculation on your part

We're friends with a nice family who are very loud Georgia fans.

I just checked their Instagram and they were doing Shorts all through the game, celebrating every score and then radio silence.

At least they have the decency not to celebrate this "win."

You need better friends … why not celebrate this win? UGA earned it with a hell of a 4th quarter.

Damn good game.

Disappointing ending, but after the Michigan game, I was worried that tOSU would get throttled by Georgia, so I’m glad they made a game of it.

Congrats UGA fans.
Hell of a game. You guys showed up and more. Two evenly matched teams like the rankings showed all year long. Will remember that for a long time!
