This is not entirely accurate.


The Who were wildly original, and all over the map, musically.

They are their own band. Possibly the literal definition of such.


This is not to say I dislike the Stones or Zep, but I disagree that they were stones wannabes

Well maybe I was a little over the top there. I think Pate Townson is a whiny little bitch though. I never cared for The Who that much, Out of all the British invasion bands they were my least favorite.

All three are awesome and very different.

Pete is also quoted in the article as saying of his bandmates in The Who, "without me, they would have all ended up working in the flower market, or worse – in Led Zeppelin." Also quoted saying the Beatles were "lousy." I love The Who -- and Townshend is a big part of that -- but he comes across here like a feckless cunt with sour grapes.

Yes, the British Invasion happened before I was born but the Who were creative and a force to be reckoned with. I also enjoyed listening to Cream and The Kinks. Led Zeppelin was enjoyable but didn't define Rock & Roll in their era.

Maybe one or two songs are worth a damn. I could really give two shits last about the rest. I don’t see what the big deal is about The Who.

The Who had lots of good songs but I'll admit Townshend sounds a bit jealous.

Opinions are like assholes. I know I got one.

Led Zeppelin sold albums, and I would imagine that they influence many more rock ‘n roll bands then The Who did. Pete couldn’t hold a candle to Jimmy page.
