GAME Playoff Selection Show thread (11 am cst ESPN)

I think better SEC teams losing to teams like Vandy, Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky & Florida is a good indicator that those "better" SEC teams really arent that great.
Or, that the mid-tier SEC teams are pretty good and the B1G has shitty teams after the first 3. Who knows. We may find out in bowl season and CFP.

Illinois: come and get yer whuppin'!

Just remember you can't use the transitive property when discussing SEC losses.
You can only use the transitive property when discussing SEC wins.

Regular bowl games really mean nothing now with the even more opt outs and transfers that are happening now.

Two things can be true at once:

1.) SEC is still the best conference
2.) the gap wasn't as wide this year. Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas and Vandy all had embarrassing OOC losses yet they all beat at least one SEC team that finished 5-3 or better in league play.

The idea that we are playing this ACC vs SEC game shows how retarded some of you people are. Conferences are irrelevant, resumes aren't. Committee is telling you that two good wins doesn't make up for two bad losses. Sample size is twelve games. With such a limited sample size, you can't lose to two 6-6 teams. Not a hard concept to follow.

Deal with it or pound sound. Either way, stop being dumb as shit.

I agree, but it's the best we can do. Also, a lot about culture. I'll bet USCjr will be ready. Vandy v. GaTech should be a good game. Other teams maybe not, but some of those teams will have something prove. I'll bet Illinois will be ready.

Team in a non playoff bowl i'm most interested to see how they come out is definitely Bama. Will they be fired up and take it out on Michigan or will they totally not care and maybe lose?

I have a feeling we're going to hear this throughout the playoffs.

So what you are saying is the B1G has exactly one good team? You know, since Ohio lost to a mediocre Michigan team. At least we have Oregon.

I'm saying nobody is that great this year, you can deep throat and suck up all the SEC jizz you want but that's not gonna change that.

Sec wasnt the best last year either. Two years in a row now

Someone just messaged me and said -- the reason you are so against the SEC is that Ohio is only 2-11 in post season games against the SEC. (Don't quote me, as I'm just passing along the info, don't know if that is true or not).

That would explain ALOT though if it were true. You are just bitter you have to play a SEC team and are trying to convince yourself they won't bully you in the trenches like most physical teams do.

I don't care what team we are playing. I've already said I'd almost rather we get embarrassed so Day gets canned. The point is you think a team that lost 3 games, 2 of them being to 6-6 teams somehow got screwed not getting put into the playoff, which is ridiculous.

UGA Texas and Tennessee all deserve to be in the playoff i've got no problem with any of them, you are trying to hype up meh 9-3 teams and the rest of the garbage though.

I understand why you have this anger towards the SEC now. I'd be trying to convince myself the SEC was "meh" too, if we had to face a SEC team in the 1st round of the playoffs and our record was 2-11 against that conference.

I will be rooting for Ohio. We don't want Ryan Day going anywhere.

I’m not angry about anything. There are years where the SEC is legit far and above the best but you have a hard on for the SEC claiming a meh Bama team who lost to 2 6-6 teams got “screwed” lol

You keep harping on losses, while leaving out the fact they beat Georgia and South Carolina (who both beat ACC champ Clemson), while also having a 3rd win over a ranked team, while SMU has.........Zero.

Couple that with the fact Bama played a top 10 schedule, while SMU played a top 60 schedule.

You keep saying I have a hard on for the SEC, while I couldn't care less. I want to watch the best teams play, not the teams who play in a shit conference and beat nobody. I should be happy as PSU will get a win and hopefully sign Franklin to an extension.

This is what gets me. It's not like Alabama went 9-3 because they played ND and Ohio State OOC and played UGA, Tennessee, Texas, Ole Miss, etc. They lost to a pair of 6-6 teams and got blown out by one of them. Acting like they need to schedule easier as a result of this is laughable.
