GAME Playoff Selection Show thread (11 am cst ESPN)

They should make some stipulation where a conference champ doesn’t get a bid if they are ranked outside the top 12. This helps avoid a ACC situation Clearly conference champ games already don’t matter anyways.
I gotta push back that they don’t matter

It got ASU and Clemson into the dance

It got Oregon, Georgia, Boise, and ASU a first round bye. Winning 3 games is easier than 4.

All four P4 CCG’s were being played for something meaningful

Lol at wanting to change the format because you don’t like the seeding in your invitational

ESPN predictably all in on changing the format because Bama got left out and only 1 SEC team is able to get a BYE
Joe Tessitore was openly advocating for it yesterday in the Big12 game early on when it was still a close game, as if there was nothing else to talk about. This just one week after he couldn’t stop mentioning Georgia was automatically in the playoffs if they beat tech.

It’s so tiresome.

I just want to know how bama barely misses the playoff and then ends up playing a 7 win Michigan team in a bowl game?

I said last year teams in the SEC and B1G were going to stop scheduling OOC games against anything but cupcakes, because their schedules are going to be so tough. I was told I was wrong, especially by Georgia fans.

There is no reason at all for teams to play these big OOC matchups anymore.
Other than Notre Dame who is always a big draw, you are prob correct.

a possibility is there are a lot of good traveling fan bases in the SEC and Bama fans are going to have a bad case of sore ass for missing the playoffs. Citrus probably chose South Carolina for that reason.

I’m haven’t invested even a second looking at bowl games, but my first reaction is blue blood match-up with big fan bases. Bowls like those.

The CFP should rotate networks every year like the superbowl. That way one network doesn’t get monopoly on controlling the narrative

It only rotates because no network has ponied up to be exclusive.

ESPN paid for exclusivity, but as we saw...alabama is still out

2 big 12 teams playing each other in bowl gm is bizarre. Colorado vs BYU

I’m all for the auto bids. Guaranteeing them byes is stupid. FWIW, I think the committee got it right. My problem is with the structure of the playoff

I admit I'm so ass hurt I'm walking with a limp today. I'm thinking shit like too bad the death penalty isn't a literal & Dabo Sweeny should have to fight Tyler from Spartanburg in a cage.
