Predict the Final Poll

I think 1-4 will be the semi-finalists. No way that a team that got crushed in the quarter-finals should be top 4.

ND/tOSU
tOSU/ND
Texas
PSU

then you look at the quarter final losers - UGA, Oregon, ASU, BSU. I can see an argument for ASU to be 5 because they took Texas to OT, then UGA played a far more competitive game then Oregon did, and UGA also beat Texas twice, so I'll give then the H2H over ASU.

So I'll go:
ND/tOSU
tOSU/ND
Texas
PSU
UGA
ASU
Ore
BSU

I could swap ASU and UGA with no problem.
Disagree - due to how the teams with the 3 1/2 week bye period performed. One week off is one thing but 3 1/2 weeks???? We’ve seen the AP drop the loser of the championship game down below 2 a few times. Going a little OD here but if Oregon would have forfeited to PSU & had their path, think we are looking at an tOSU/Oregon final.

Same result tho. amirite

Id ask for an avy bet, but you got humiliated last time you had a moronic claim, like the RB viewership
LOL, you can't be "humiliated" when you don't give a shit about what we are talking about. What an idiot. Imagine taking something discussed here and feeling "humiliated." You need to reevaluate your life choices.

Maybe - Maybe Not. Would like to play them when each team had one week off, like the first game.

Ohio State has basically the same amount time off between scUM and Tennessee as Oregon did between Penn State and Ohio State

Yes, but Oregon not only had all that time off...they also had to deal with improper band placement.

That's a lot to overcome.

My last post on this, but what are you even talking about? You said that I was "humiliated" by being wrong. Shit, I've been so wrong so many times in my life on things that actually mattered, the idea that I would be humiliated for being wrong here on a sports board is a joke. Dude, get a life. It's a sports board. To be perfectly clear so you know where I am coming from:

- I really love CFB, and I spend an inordinate amount of time here and on other sports boards.

- But, if I had to quit it tomorrow, I wouldn't give it a second thought. I've posted before that I left the old Hoop for about 3.5 years when it got really toxic (shocking, it was an Oregon poster who lost his mind), and it wasn't important to me. I was wasting my time. The new Hoop still has its moments, but for the most part, this is a fun place to be.

- But humiliated for being wrong? Get the fuck out of here ... I've been right here often, and I've most certainly been wrong. If you think being wrong has ever affected my mental well-being for a second, you are more of an idiot than I already think you are.

If its close:
tOSU
ND
Texas
Oregon
PSU
Georgia

if its a blowout:
tOSU
Texas
ND
Oregon
PSU
Georgia

#3 lost to #5 TWICE.

3 of those being playoff wins, yeah. No matter what, those 4 teams are going to be in the top 6 IMO.

Have texas high up because they advanced while UGA didn't. Have Oregon ahead of PSU because they only had the 1 loss and have a conference title while PSU has 3 losses, including head to head vs Oregon in the B1G CCG.

UGA did beat Texas head to head 2x and have the SEC championship to their name. But they didn't look particularly great in the playoff, which is why i had them lower.

IDC really, just going off the eye test during the playoff. Could just as easily be tOSU, ND, Oregon, PSU, UGA, Texas

If Ohio St wins

1. Ohio St
T-2. Oregon
T-2. Notre Dame
T-4. Georgia
T-4. Penn St
T-6. tejas
T-6. Tennessee
T-8. Clemson
T-8. Arizona St
T-8. Indiana
11. Boise St
12. SMU

If Notre Dame wins.

1. Notre Dame
T-2. Ohio St
T-2. Oregon
T-4. Georgia
T-4. Penn St
T-6. tejas
T-6. Tennessee
T-8. Clemson
T-8. Arizona St
T-8. Indiana
11. Boise St
12. SMU

:comeatmebro:

If Notre Dame doesn’t win on January 20th I don’t care what their final ranking is. You can have 2nd place if it makes you happy
Agreed. History cares only about #1 at the end of each season.

All else is irrelevant minutiae.

tejas didn't beat Georgia to advance tho. They're (0-2) against them.

The 15-30 loss was IN AUSTIN.
Advancing against Clemson is meaningless because Georgia beat Clemson too. By a significantly wider margin no less.

Had tejas redeemed it's TWO LOSSES to Georgia (Regular Season and SEC CCG) and beaten them in the CFP then I'd capitulate.

There is no reasonable case to put tejas over Georgia.
"BuT tHeY BeAt aRiZoNa sT" to advance doesn't cut the mustard.

They also beat Clemson.

As I said. My rankings were purely CFP eye test and quick back of the hand math. Doesn't matter and don't care what 2-6 are at the end of the day.

So tejas lost to Georgia TWICE. That is a fact.

Next step: Did tejas beat Georgia to redeem those two losses in the CFP? NO

Next step: Did tejas beat someone that Georgia lost to? NO

tejas did not play #11 Alabama
tejas did not play #14 Ole Miss
tejas did not play #5 Notre Dame

We don't know that tejas would have won any of those, but let's rank tejas ahead of the team they lost to TWICE because they beat #12 Arizona St in the CFP to advance.
