R.I.P Florida - St Pete

My initial thought was they would use a minor league or spring training stadium somewhere in Florida, maybe not even Tampa. But going to be a lot of delays and doubleheaders next year
Knowing Manfred they will be some traveling circus that will play in a new city the next three years.

Btw.. no power lost here that I'm aware of.. but had to wait an hour for my internet to come back this morning.
All good news for you. I heard Tampa hadn't had a direct hit since 1921. Good test for the location you live at and have a hurricane this big come through and minimal or no damage for you. Happy to hear that.

Sitting in my living room with a hot coffee and some prime indica, watching some Florida dudes house float away on CNN.

Certifiable pussy here.
Yep. If I had to describe a pussy that would be a near perfect example.

Over 3M lost power. Already 600k plus got it back.

Any update on your stubborn friend @SlinkyRedfoot ?
He got lucky as fuck.

Worst thing that happened to him is a branch fell off a tree outside of his condo. No damage. He never even lost power.

He sent me some pics/vids this morning and it's crazy how calm and beautiful it is.

Well, I can appreciate his gambler’s spirit

If I didn’t have a baby that’s gonna be here in a week at the latest and was still living by myself, it would be hard for me to leave

I get that completely.

I've got three kids and there are a lot of risks that I never would have thought twice about before them that I'd never even consider now.

It's incredible how they change your perspective.

For sure. Used to be I’d sleep through tornado warnings in my bed despite having a basement. I made sure we had a place to sleep in the basement in case things got bad last here with Helene

Once that kid gets crapped out, you'll be a full fledged boomer. Salute

I have a nephew who lives a little south of Sarasota. He said he rode it out because by the time he would have had an opportunity to evacuate the traffic on the routes out were parking lots just about.

He’s checked in with the family to let us all know that he and family are safe and secure.

No.. the bay drained out.. winds were pushing the water out of the bay.. no storm surge in Tampa.. this was best case scenario for them!

Are you all good? No damage to the homestead

Yeah.. I rode out Charley, Frances, and Jean in 2004.. lost my roof to jean...had a big tree limb come down and take the corner off.. we did away with shingles after that storm.. I have a 50 year metal roof now.. love it!
