Rams GM Les Snead was asked by a reporter whether Jared Goff was their future quarterback, and his answer was juicy:

“He’s a Ram right now, what’s today? Jan. 26…”, Snead said.

He could’ve said, “Look, guys, we’re evaluating our team, and we’ll figure that our down the road.” But he didn’t. He got petty and couldn’t have made Goff’s future in L.A. sound more uncertain.

Rams GM Les Snead, asked repeatedly if there's a scenario where Jared Goff wouldn't be on the roster in 2021, declines to provide a yes/no answer, and references Aaron Rodgers' recent quote about the future being a beautiful mystery.

Interesting that he quoted Rodgers' almost verbatim so maybe LA has a little QB envy going and want to help Rogers get that new contract.
 
One of those draft years where there was no correct answer for 1 and 2.

Like Mariotta and Winston.
 
It's very possible the rams want a new qb. Can they do it with that Goff contract though? Does any other team even want goff?

I think this is pretty ridiculous. Is Goff on Aaron Rodgers' level? Of course not. But the dude IS still a pretty solid starting qb in the NFL, and he has plenty of time to get better.

Rodgers is staying in Green Bay despite all the rumors.
 
A bit surprising the year both Wentz and Goff were drafted at the top. That was not considered a strong QB draft class. I remember looking at all the scouting reports and QB discussions and both Goff and Wentz were end of first round or second round projections. Goff was considered a work in process entering the NFL. The trade up to the top slots that year to grab those QBs was surprising

That might be true, but if Goff had lived up to being drafted at the top this conversation would not be happening nor would stories like this be appearing

Plenty of time? This isn’t the Jordan Love thread. Goff has shown throughout his entire college and pro career that he is a QB that can win you a game. Has had some solid games but so did Matt Flynn.

Show me where Goff beat 1 ranked team in college. And also show where he’s at in turnovers in the NFL the past 2-3 years.

Mcvay didn’t draft Goff so keep that in mind as well.

it’s unbelievable really and he was Jeff Fishers guy. Goff had 1 TD in those 3 games to the super bowl a few years ago. He was holding this team back and the Lions basically had Stafford and who else? Should be interesting to watch now

Goff is better than Flynn but just an average starter in the NFL.

Because of the defense and running game, not Goff.
