You can get them not split, but we are getting one that is split the upper 1/3rd so we can elevate it. My back apparently doesn’t respond well to laying flat anymore.

I haven't researched up on split mattresses that much, but it seems like there would always be like a divot in them? The idea of having a temperature/firmness specified seems cool...but also weird.
