Saban takes a MASSIVE shot at Jimbo.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. And the way he said it was the wrong way to do it.
Only part I have a problem with is him saying we didn’t pay anyone(we did)

Watch the whole 7 min clip. He was asked about NIL and how he plans to use it in the future and in front of a bunch of boosters he said basically if we don’t do what A&M is doing we will get left behind. He never said A&M cheated. He clearly stated it was all legal. He was using A&M as an example to get more money from boosters

He has a problem with collectives being legal.

So pretty much exactly what Saban said.

I hear it as something like 'the NIL setup used by aTm and a few others is SO odiferous, that even we won't do it that way here at Bama.'

It's kind of like the ultimate CFB insult. We all know Bama would have players driving around in Lambos if they had an NIL trust setup for players and used it to bid their allegience. But it's even too gross for Saban, for now. That's really something.

aTm - too sleazy for Saban.

By the way, I've always liked lil Nicky. I appreciate his clear explanations of things and no-nonsense approaches to complicated stuff. And yes, I hate him as well.
On the other hand, Jimbo is and has always been a classless piece of shit. His emotional presser was that of a young girl...angry and repetitive. He's an embarrassment to higher education and to most grown men.

Doesn't have a problem with High Tides or whatever it is called, does he? And yes, the way he was talking he was implying A&M broke rules or did something wrong. Basically he should not be talking about other schools. He knows better.

Nah, he's just pissed that he didn't get the players he is used to getting. Nothing more than that.

I don't think there is anything more delicious than Saban calling out Jimbo with 3 months to go before the season begins. And then Jimbo denying and poiting back at Saban. And I'm like Kiffin going all

i don't even know what the fuck a bowl game is anymore.

Oh sure, you remember...

It's a game played after the regular season that is a reward for teams with winning records. The players get some cool swag and the school gets a nice check.

The more you win, the better the bowl game, the better the swag, the bigger the check.

i didn't think Jimbo went too far with his comments.. but I did think Bjork looked weak as shit to tattle on Saban with a complaint. One minute he says Saban is an old King losing his grip, while emailing a complaint to HR about Saban saying mean things.

He blew it out of proportion by singling out specific schools. He knew what he was doing.

I'm not so sure he did.

Saban is usually pretty calculated when he does his ''I don't like this about college football so I'm gonna whine about it and then turn around and do it'' schtick. Usually he doesn't name names (even though everyone knows who he's talking about). But this time he actually went after someone.

I think it was on his mind, he was pissed about it and his mouth got away from him.

What I find humorous about this whole thing is Saban didn't say anything a hundred of us haven't said ourselves: Texas A&M resorted to buying a recruiting class and it cost them a cool $30 Million. And Fisher is right when he said he didn't break any rules. The only time I can remember OU getting into a pissing match like this was when Barry Switzer was called a cheater by Darrell Royal and Barry called Darrell a guitar picker. The OU and Texas fans were going berserk. I can only imagine the atmosphere at the next Bama/aTm game. It's gonna be biblical.

Doubt he needed to even reach out, it is pretty public.

So pretty much exactly what Saban said.

The lawyer in the tweet literally calls himself "The NIL Lawyer" and has publicly stated he negotiates deals for high school students with collectives. This is expressly prohibited by the NCAA regulations, and the state laws in Texas (and almost all other states).

I didn't read the Tweeter post that way.

24 hours ago, I Tweeted these two tweets in a back and forth with a UGA sportswriter.

He didn’t say what they did was illegal or a violation of the rules, only that it’s not sustainable.

If they violated the rules they should be disciplined. But that’s not the way I heard Saban say it. And I’m not into defending Saban. He’s not calling for Texas A&M to be disciplined, he’s simply saying that that type of recruiting, if legal, is unsustainable.

That's not really true. We lost more players to ATM that Bama did. ATM's class was only about 170 points higher than Bama's which puts it within the margin of error. And we were 60 points behind that, all within the margin of error. (I used Rivals only because I have those handy from another post).

Bama (2021) - 3548
Bama (2017) - 3477
ATM (2022) - 3470
UGA (2018) - 3461
Bama (2022) - 3297
tOSU (2021) - 3262
UGA (2022) - 3235
tOSU (2018) - 3192
tOSU (2017) - 3078
UGA (2019) - 3063
UGA (2020) - 3055
Bama (2019) - 3047
Clemson (2020) - 3034
Bama (2020) - 3007
UGA (2017) - 2825

The point is that Saban's last two classes were crazy good. He isn't bitching because you were ahead of him ... we've done that 3 times. He simply does not think what is happening is sustainable, and many people agree with him. He just said out loud what everyone else has been saying. Honestly, let's say they decide collectives can do whatever they want ... do you really think Bama, or UGA or tOSU is going to have a problem find the NIL money? Of course they will.
