Scenario Village Game

I always thouht it helped the loser in the RRSO, because it's played early enough to recover from.

At least it's always seemed that way
The problem with that is Oklahoma has tumbled since then making that win not look as great plus Texas has struggled (QB issues have a lot to do with that) at times. On the flip side Alabama looks stronger and stronger and perception is big part of this deal as well.

I could be wrong but if the trends continue and both Texas and Bama win out I think Bama will get the nod.

No no.
I'm talking every year.
Not just 1 instance.

Hows this for a scenario
BIG Ten 3 way tie i believe puts Penn State in Big Ten Championship
12-1 Big Ten Champion Penn State (loss to Ohio State)
11-1 Michigan (loss to Penn State)
11-1 Ohio State (loss to Michigan)

12-1 Pac 12 Champion Oregon (loss to Washington)
12-1 Washington (loss to Oregon in championship game)

12-1 ACC Champion Louisville (loss to Pitt)
12-1 FSU (loss to Louisville in championship game)

12-1 Big XII Champion Texas (loss to Oklahoma)

12-1 SEC Champion Alabama (loss to Texas)
12-1 UGA (loss to Alabama in championship game)

Easy. Louisville out.
Other champs in.

Here is the setup:

FSU goes undefeated and is in the Playoff
Washington goes undefeated and is in the Playoff
Michigan goes undefeated and is in the Playoff

Alabama wins the SEC Championship game and has one loss
Georgia loses the SEC Championship game and has one loss against Alabama in an overtime game
Texas wins out and only has one loss
Ohio State only has one loss in an overtime game with Michigan

Who gets the 4th spot?

Rules:
1. You must name your choice first
2. Then you have to defend that choice
3. Both have to be done in one post

Anyone who deviates from the rules will be disqualified and will be subject to punishment.
The only logical options are Bama and Ohio St but if Bama beats UGA they probably get in on the simple fact UGA was undefeated and back to back champions.

All the champs minus Louisville

So louisville who beat ND by more than Ohio State did (who is getting credit as ND being one of their good wins) and will have then beat an otherwise undefeated FSU, and would have wins against bowl eligible BC, NC State, Miami, and Kentucky from SEC should be left out?

Yes. You just referenced Kentucky and NCST.

Well, the Texas fans are telling me they are in so I don't know what you are smoking.

It doesn’t matter what history or eye test and opponents are… if 1-loss Bama gets in over 1-loss Texas when Texas beat them directly (in their house), there’ll be an actual violent riot.

No chance in hell. Ohio St made it in after Penn St beat them that one year on the fluke FG block return.

Texas beat them early in the year. This helps Bama. If they knock off Georgia, no way they keep them out since there can't be 4 undefeated teams.

@ELTEXAN educate a brother for me.

It was early in the year. Gotta take full resume and how the team is playing right now.

If they beat the 2-time back to back champion...it would be a miracle they don't make it in

I mean after the Alabama win Texas next best are Kansas and Kansas state. both Kentucky and NCSt are currently 6-3 and likely finish with more. Potential win over FSU would pretty much put both resumes very similar to each other.

actual
armed
violence

Committee would prob throw Texas a bone and put them in over the others cause..

Future SEC Future SEC Future SEC!! :yo:

Pissing Alabama off even that much more and setting up a really nice hate game between the two for decades to come..

Texas barely beat TCU. Bama is skulldragging every team. If they were to beat Georgia, no chance they would put Texas in over them

Alabama

They'd have the SOS advantage, best win (defeating an undefeated defending national champion), their only loss came 1st game of the season and because I'm biased. Fuck you.

I need Bama, Texas, and Oregon all as 1 loss conference champs like I need air. I think Oregon is fucked in that situation and OD might……OD

If Oregon is a 1-loss conference champ they are in...it doesn't matter what happens elsewhere.
