SDSU Not Leaving the Mountain West?

It doesn’t appear they have a GoR. I tried to ask the edgy prick but he wouldn’t answer. I can’t imagine the networks would be against the MWC keeping their top earning program in the conference for a new deal. But again, if nothing is changed, what’s stopping SDSU from doing this next year and the year after until they get into the PAC?

I don't know the MWC's contract but my guess is they have a GOR. It's pretty standard with most contracts and they have penalties in place if a school chooses to leave the conference before the contract expires. Do all the school want to agree to a much more punitive GOR? I think Fresno State is hoping they will receive a P5 bid at some point. They probably wouldn't support a change to the GOR, along with SDSU.

Of course SDSU may eventually leave but I don't think that's an existential problem for the MWC.

MWC media is 6 years signed in 2020.

I would imagine they have some sort of GoR too, but the Contract is slated to go until 2025/2026 season. Yet they would have been able to get out of the contract 2 years early to join the PAC for only 17 million?

Schools may not want a more punitive contract, but whats really stopping from this being a yearly thing?

I'm not sure what you think they should do. The penalties for leaving the contract early are in place, they aren't going to make it something stupid like 100M

Then this is going to keep happening and happening. If the MWC is cool with it then so be it.

Conference expansion and realignment will probably continue to happen, regardless of the specifics of the MWC contract.

Sure but as you see the ACC and their what appears to be iron clad GoR, there is ways to solve this shit from becoming a distraction yearly. But again, if the MWC is going to let it happen then so be it.

And most ACC schools regret signing that. I doubt the MWC schools would be willing to sign that kind of deal.

Yet it’s still ironclad. Given there actually seems to be a plausible chance that the MWC could potentially add a P5 or two, I’m doing everything I can to preserve the conference until Such time arrives should it.

What do you think happens to this conference when you and UDub (and possibly Stanford) inevitably join the B1G?

The PAC adds some MWC/ACC teams to get back up to 10/12?

The same thing the Big 12 did to get back up to 12...

I don’t see Colorado or Arizona sticking around if that happens. Eventually causing ASU and UU to join them. Where the hell you think WSU, OSU and Cal are going?

Like I said, they'll add MWC and AAC teams and get their #s back up. The PAC will likely have SDSU and SMU in the fold by then. They could add a few more.
