SEC released 2023 schedule... looks like no OU and Texas

You weren't expecting them to be in there, were you?

I was always leaning towards 2024 but I was curious. I am starting to lean now towards 2025.
That's what I'm figuring. Doesn't seem likely to be any earlier, given the money situation in the Xii

OU still too poor to buy their way out? So sad.

I was hoping at about 50/50 they would make the deal and get out. Looks like Texas is all hat, no cattle and Oklahoma is neither sooners or boomers. Hope they enjoy their G5 schedule next season. Or is it '24? Forgot when the G5s are coming in.

I don't see Texas doing anything either. The both of them need to step up their game, big fucking time.

It is still ridiculously high in 2023. It gets more manageable next year but that is only one year. Is it worth paying and exiting early? We will see. Nebraska killed Scott Frost early and cost them a lot of money when they could have waited 2 weeks.

I guess it will depend on how frustrating staying in Big12 becomes for both programs.

If, somehow, ESPN makes a deal with the Big 12 for their TV rights, and all of a sudden, it doesn't cost so much to leave.
Still, it doesn't seem like you could change this schedule a couple of months from now.

If not.
2025 here we come.

There's something to be said for OU giving its new coaching staff time to get settled in and establish its recruiting before we head into the SEC meat grinder. I want to see SEC teams playing in Norman too but I want to win as many games as possible after we make the big move. Patience, grasshopper.
