yeah the schedule was released Tuesday evening on SEC network
GA looks to have another cakewalk, and they replaced ou with Ball st lol
You weren't expecting them to be in there, were you?
I was always leaning towards 2024 but I was curious. I am starting to lean now towards 2025.
It is still ridiculously high in 2023. It gets more manageable next year but that is only one year. Is it worth paying and exiting early? We will see. Nebraska killed Scott Frost early and cost them a lot of money when they could have waited 2 weeks.
I guess it will depend on how frustrating staying in Big12 becomes for both programs.
He knows everything. If you don't believe me just ask him and he'll tell ya.
I see Georgia avoids Bama, LSU, and @TAMU once again
Vanderbilt appears to be the hardest game on their schedule next year.
Look at the ratings that Texas vs Alabama and Arkansas last season pulled and you will know why. The SEC doesn't want to give CBS those ratings and is holding them back for the new deal to blow it out of the water. They probably didn't have a lot of options on short notice. I am not sure why the SEC would make them cancel that game.

That is why 2024 is in play as that is when the new SEC deal starts and the new teams join the Big 12.
Sankey was heavily involved in the CBS negotiations and they are the ones that told him no when aTm and Missouri joined. CBS was going to have to make a monster offer to keep the SEC and ESPN wasn't going to underbid.

This is the only thing that makes sense now from that perspective. It is still pretty pathetic though to have the game cancelled for a tv contract.
I wonder why they keep Alabama-Texas?
Because that was played at Texas and not on CBS.This is the only thing that makes sense now from that perspective. It is still pretty pathetic though to have the game cancelled for a tv contract.

Because the TX/Bama return game is next year. i.e. pre 2025
Georgia cancelled their Oklahoma game next season because the return game was scheduled for 2031. Oklahoma's gonna be in the SEC in by then anyway.
Tennessee cancelled their series with Oklahoma in 2024 because the return game would be after Oklahoma joins in 2025.
Yeah but they could have just done the return game as a Conference matchup. Not sure I understand the reasoning for the cancellation.
As in a 9th conference game when the rest play 8?
Where are they gonna fit a Mercer or Western Carolina in there then?
yeah next season game will be an ESPN/ABC primetime game.. pretty sure it's going to do huge numbers again.. Especially with Ewers returningBecause that was played at Texas and not on CBS.
Notice that they didn't make Bama cancel UT. That's because the return trip will be before OU comes into the league. UGA would not get a return trip from OU until 2031. They don't want to be limited to having to work the IC schedule around the UGA OU game already being scheduled. Same with UTjr's games. That's why we were told to cancel. They probably didn't have a lot of options on short notice. I am not sure why the SEC would make them cancel that game.
