SEC released 2023 schedule... looks like no OU and Texas

Notice that they didn't make Bama cancel UT. That's because the return trip will be before OU comes into the league. UGA would not get a return trip from OU until 2031. They don't want to be limited to having to work the IC schedule around the UGA OU game already being scheduled. Same with UTjr's games. That's why we were told to cancel.

I get that but when Colorado joined the Pac12, they weren't forced to cancel the Cal series. They actually still played it as an OOC game.

I doubt the SEC is checking in on what the PAC did. I guess the PAC thought they had it under control, and the SEC feels this is a better way to go. It’s not that I like it. I would rather have played the game, or at least moved it to a neutral site.

Yeah my thought is just go ahead and play the games unless that is the year the teams join the SEC and then when the first SEC matchup happens, the team that traveled gets to play at home in the series.

That just seems like the easy fix.

Ball State has a better chance at beating UGA any way

We're going to have to send you back to troll school if it doesn't get better
the truth hurts, buddy

Apparently it isn't an easy fix. Look at it this way ... some time in 2024 they are going to start putting together the 3-6-6 schedule format. The last thing they want to do is to have to make a decision on who plays who in a certain order, or at a certain time during the season just because this game was schedule a decade earlier. They want a blank slate to do whatever makes the most sense.

I think they should have played next season anyways.. be it in Dallas, Nawlins, Nashville or Atlanta

I posted the same ... make it a one time neutral site game. I'd have been there.

Yeah, as a counter, I was thinking about how it relates to over road/home games. Still, I think the SEC overcomplicates/overthinks this type of crap.

Apparently Tennessee was able to get Virginia as a substitute but it looks like UGA suffered by getting Ball State as substitute :(. We will hear about UGA's OOC schedule next year lol without context that you guys had to get Ball State as last minute substitute.

The FSU-LSU series right now is interesting because both teams chose a "neutral" location near their home stadium to host. The game is in Orlando next year and was in New Orleans this year.

yeah..it's dumb but they both went for the quick cash

I kind of like it. It makes sense because it isn't a total loss for the away team.
games like that belong at the school stadium.. Orlando? really?

I agree ... if you are going to have it close to home, do it at home and let the city gain economic value. They get money, their home town doesn't.

It lines up perfectly for a three-peat.
