SEC scheduling is starting to come info focus per inside sources ...

A&M fans on suicide alert

Huh? how so? We have a harder opponent in Miss St than if we had OU. You were the fucking big12 champs the last time we met and we stomped your little asses. :dhd:

I'm surprised you didn't get Florida. I thought Tenn would get Bama, Florida and Vandy but I think they threw a bone to Oklahoma for taking Mizzou by giving them Florida (which is a nice get for recruiting purposes) and they couldn't give Florida: UGA, OU and Tenn. So I think SC is a compromise that we all knew was going to happen.

On paper, SC is historically better than UK and they had to try to at least seem balanced when you had Bama getting Auburn, Tenn & LSU, Auburn getting both Bama & UGA. I think Texas got a tough draw with OU, aTm and Arkansas because the razorbacks are always going to make that their biggest game of the year and for Texas it is just another game that is just dangerous.

I'm fine with our draw and its not like the SEC could have made our schedule any harder. I love that the Bammers are bitching because its about time they stepped up to the plate and stopped dodging teams like UGA and Florida.

Yeah, to me it is not about stronger/weaker teams but historical matchups.

UK-Tennessee is the third longest running series in SEC history after Auburn-Georgia and the Egg Bowl:

Now Clemson-South Carolina and Oklahoma-Texas have more games but the latter is a new SEC matchup and Clemson-South Carolina is ACC vs. SEC (at least for now).

We have played Kentucky more than anyone and being in Middle Tennessee, there are a lot of UK graduates here. It is a fun rivalry (moreso Basketball than Football but UK has been stronger recently in Football as a program).

I am not sure about a compromise. Sure, South Carolina had a better 2022 season but UK has been a stronger program the last 5 years and actually all-time. Kentucky had SEC titles in the 1950s and 1970s and claim even a National Title from the 1950s. They have, arguably, been more competitive than South Carolina although I would say South Carolina has been more competitive against Tennessee.

I think it had to do with recruiting. If you wanted to keep rivalries, you would just simply make one switch on our end:

1. Kentucky drops Georgia and adds Tennessee
2. South Carolina drops Tennessee and adds Georgia

We aren't the only program messed up here though.

Regarding Alabama, a compromise would be to take away LSU for Miss State. Although not competitive, Alabama has played Miss State more than anyone, I believe, and that is the closest school to Alabama. It is one of the most played series in the SEC as well.

I guess we have to get use to change sometimes.

Florida-Tennessee wasn't much of a thing until the division split and Georgia was rarely on Tennessee's schedule until 1992 as well. I am not sure Tennessee had ever played South Carolina prior to 1992 and we had NOT played Missouri until they joined the SEC.

Two major annual opponents were also dropped from Tennessee's schedule: Auburn and Ole Miss. Prior to 1992, Auburn and Ole Miss were pretty much annual fixtures most year on Tennessee's schedule

Tennessee also had a rivalry going with Georgia Tech and frankly played them a lot more than Georgia when they were in the SEC.

Oh I just meant you had to play your Texas buddies every year again. Trust me A&M is not really a school we are concerned with, the series is pretty lopsided. Good luck though. Oh, and I know you don’t believe that Miss St garbage, OU was seeded 3rd in this new thing for a reason.

DOn't care at all about the afterthought in Austin. Kudo's for not referencing the 77-0 game played in leather helmets though.

Good that’s the right attitude, they will continue to do less with more.

See that is where you let your heart do the thinking rather than your head.

Ain't nobody gonna care how you "feel" they just want it to appear fair and if it doesn't they gonna bitch (i.e. Nick Saban). That is why you were never going to get a schedule with both UK and Vandy because the crying would have been epic.

We still got South Carolina and Vandy so there is still crying lol...

I expected an outside chance for Florida but not South Carolina.

Then again, we are going off media feedback that isn't really final and I am not sure is going to be 100% accurate once the dust settles.
