Smart on scheduling tough OOC

I am more of a game-by-game fan. The CFP means nothing to me at the start of the season. If we win, we win, but I aim first for division champ, then conference champ. The OOC games have nothing to do with those goals. If the CFP committee wants to invite us then, w'll play. If not we'll play someone else. By 3/1 It's history.

An undefeated B1G team will be in the CFP. Now prior to the CFP, there could be a shot of being left out. Look at 2004 Auburn.

Oklahoma has been doing this for a Hundred Years.
And at the same time, playing fewer home games than any other team in America.

You're Welcome

They had to play the amazing Josh Heupel Offense and the Vols. That was tough enough.

I know Texas will continue to schedule a big name opponent in future schedules.. what gets murky is if the conferences begin to play 10 conference games... but that's for another day.

Seeing this debate the last few pages, just further shows that it was a good move for UT and ou to join the SEC just for the matchups. They feel bigger since we have 3 historic rivalries being there and playing a border state school (with championships) every other year isn't too shabby either

Auburn (6-7) wasn't better than AAC Houston (12-2) or Big 10 Penn St (7-6)
Florida (6-7) wasn't better than AAC UCF (9-4)
Missouri (6-7) wasn't better than ACC Boston College (6-6) or IND Army (9-4)
Tennessee (7-6) wasn't better than ACC Pitt (11-3) or Big 10 Purdue (9-4)

Don’t mind @Hitman Hart he just loves swinging from SEC nuts.

lmao, gonna be honest, I didn't think anyone was going to bite on that troll post. but nope!

Big Ten: big financial endowments, small brains

Yes, but you are much more likely to get injured in a hard hitting game against another elite team than you are playing a cupcake.

In the B1G and SEC -- it gives them little to no reason to play a tough OOC, when they will have the top SOS already with their conference games.
prove it.
ive heard this but never seen numbers that back it up.
it makes sense in theory but so does a theory that the "cupcake" teams are gonna give you more and hit harder. that the "cupcake" teams arent the 5and 4* guys and their techniques might not be at as high a level or because they are smaller and slower they take other shortcuts that can lead to injury. more blindside blocks, chop and cut blocks and such

Have been since 2017.

Prior to that the Big 10 was paying Nebraska what they would have earned in the Big 12 anyway.

Is OU getting SEC full share yet?
damn they low balled y'all.. Got paid what the Big12 got for tiers 1 and 2.. But I bet they didn't pay y'all for what you would have gotten for tier 3..

as always.. Nebraska playing checkers with Big Daddy Bowlsby playing backgammon
