Spring Games Are Getting Shut Down

Been to Texas a half dozen times now and I've never had either. I do make sure to have quite a bit of BBQ though
I should clarify, we're talking fast food here so it's not exactly the best burger you've ever had but Buc-ees is an experience and Whataburger is a super solid fast food burger, the best part is if you eat inside they bring a little tray of every kind of condiment and sauce you could imagine. We ate other things, obviously, but when driving around we definitely over-consumed the two.

I've been in Houston since tuesday. We stopped at the Bucees in Ennis on the way down. The brisket is nowhere what is used to be. What happened?
it's never been that good.. i think it was hyped a little more because what gas station serves fresh brisket?? But i'm done with all of their food tbh. If I do eat something from there.. it's beef jerky (korean), kolache or a cold wrap.

I'm still a sucker for their rootbeer fountain drink, sucker for their reef flip flops/boat shoes.. I wear costas when i fish but they don't offer a great selection like they used too.. (they didn't carry my King Tides model)

still cheap gas, and even cheaper bags of ice

My wife has family in Texas that we stay with when we are there so we rarely eat fast food.

His record should improve. Nebraska just bailed on a home and home with Tennessee in 2026 and 2027. So that is two less losses for Nebraska there
But, was it because of the expansion rescheduling? The B1G and SEC have talked about scheduling home and away games in the regular season, but they need to sort out their conference schedules first.

lol so you telling me with that logic.. tosu is gonna cancel coming to Austin next year and Michigan will follow in '27?

After seeing teams like Indiana and SMU get into the CFP without beating a single ranked team -- I think teams, especially in the B1G and SEC see, they are going to get into the 12 team field, even if they have years where they miss multiple top teams in conference play, as long as they win the games on their schedule.

so in light of no spring game.. rumor is that Texas will still host a festival/celebration which includes players signing autographs, music and food... oh and the discounted merch that has to go (people stand in long ass lines for that).

Will also include a public practice that day.. just no game.

I'm still bummed about it but the more I read, the more I think this will be the norm from here on out.... at least under Sark.

Good, here’s you chance to cash in G5 teams. Play your season from April to July.
I've thought this for a while. Start right after March Madness and play only a 10 game schedule than a playoff. But that would put any type playoff ending in July. That's hotter than hell around here.

OSU and UMich are B1G, Texas is SEC, why would anything need to be cancelled?

You are dumber than an oak bucket. Don’t lump me in with any Nebraska corn heads.
The answer is, Nebraska are pussies and canceled to slate home games vs lesser opponents.

This 2026/2027 home and away was actually a rescheduling of the 2016/2017 Nebraska/Tennessee home-and-away that Tennessee backed out of.

What was Tennessee's excuse for cancelling the 2016/2017 series with Nebraska?

Utter chaos atop the university system, including open in-fighting among leadership and a power play by the governor. Athletics at UTK was the worse for it.

Neb is BiG.. TN is SEC.. that was cancelled

So was Texas.. we should have swapped out BYU/UCLA in 2014, ND/Cal both in 2015 and 2016.. well at least one of those teams every year

What I don't get is what's Nebraska gonna do with their allotted time the Big 10 would give them to televise the Spring Game?

thank-you-but-no-thanks-im-good.gif
I actually feel worst for the orphans.

Neb sucks. I'm shocked TN wants to see any B1G team after the beatdown they received from the Buckeyes.

They'll get their red balloons and Runza's this year, but they'll be scrounging for tickets when the south stadium renovations begin in 2026/2027.
Thinking for 2026/2027 we should hold age/weight class divisions of orphan fights to see who gets to go. Something to do between the CWS and late August anyway.
Freewill donations at the door of course. Just sayin'.

Meh. Nebraska's been teh 'Lose by one score or less' national champs for like 4 years.
Just need to start turning those moral victories into the real deal in Rhule's 3rd season.
