TV Series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi

So far I like it. At first I was like wtf is this kidnapping shit and then realized duh, how else would they draw obi wan out of hiding so it plays well.

I'm not to excited about seeing the grand inquisitor already getting wacked and in such a weak ass manner. Now i haven't seen rebels or bad batch so I'm not up to speed on how powerful the inquisitors are but if he was the top guy, yeah he went down like a bitch.

Reva revealing that lord Vader is anakin doesn't sit well with me. That wasn't exactly common knowledge and only a handful of people knew the truth and I don't see Vader telling her. Maybe they'll explain later but I don't have my hopes up. I think that was an oversight by the writers who just said fuck it and put it in.

Overall I enjoyed it and the ending of 2 was cool as hell. Hope to see more Vader.

My guess is they'll explain it later but its heavily implied that Reva is one of the younglings that escaped Order 66. Like the first kid the show in the series is a little black girl training. So I figure she saw Anakin slaughtering people and later put 2+2 together with Vader.

The Star Wars Universe has gotten so big that contradictions start happening to push story. An example is the Sith and there are “always two no more, no less“ but you’ve got people with force abilities running around all over the place and obviously Darth Maul and Count Dooku were both apprentices at the same time.

You just have to roll with it.

Palpatine ended that. He started to take on multiple apprentices that he would use as assassins. I know that was cannon before Disney bought and scraped all that but I don't follow their universe rules. Frustrating for me but you're right.

Who cares about a timeline? This is fictional entertainment.

Actually that was a quote by Yoda in one of the prequels but was obviously false because there were two and him trying to recruit a third. I just roll with it because the damn force isn’t used consistently either so my options are enjoy it for what it is or hate all f it.

Don‘t get me started on how many times the good guy is hanging from their finger tips with the bad guy having half an hour to step on their hand. It happens like twice in every movie.

The thing about Sith is they don't really follow the rules. Parts of being bad and all. In the canon stuff and stuff that's been decanonized, they're constantly breaking that 2 rule stuff and doing their own thing.

Let’s face it they invent something new the force can do every movie. That’s why I’m not a fan of “magic” in story telling because writers can get lazy and make shit up or not use it to build drama.

It’s what I respect most about Star Trek the writers have to at least try.

I’ve seen all the movies, enjoy the live action series Disney has done, it’s all entertaining and fun. But I love watching the real fans bitch about this trilogy or that one, or this doesn’t fit with that, or whatever the gripe of the day is. It’s funny because it’s all so corny and lame. This thing that all sprung from what was supposed to be a kids movie and was corny as fuck in its own right… but no! It’s some other trilogy in the series that’s lame! Or this one thing doesn’t line up with what one character said that one time…

Meanwhile how cool was that space dogfight that is roughly modeled after the physics of fighter jets in Earth’s atmosphere? But god help you if everything doesn’t fit just right with what I previously understood of this made up space wizard religion.

I think you’re on to something here.

They made a point to say that inquisitors are corrupted Jedi and her particular animus toward Kenobi could be his failure to save them and to abandon the order, because her motivation right now is unclear. It also likely sets up some sort of redemption arc for her. This show is called Obi Wan Kenobi but something tells me it’s going to end up being her story

Just watched episode 3 and well that took a dark turn

Also I guess we’re retconning Vader’s when I last saw you I was just the learner line from ANH because he manhandles Obi Wan pretty easily

Darth Vader: You should have killed me when you had the chance.

Also Darth Vader: Well, he's about 15 yards away and there's a smattering of flames between us. Guess I'll have to let you go this time.

He is terrified of fire.

It isn’t like he lives in a lava chateau on a planet covered in lava.

Why does Vader seem to have no interest in Leia though? Like he has to know they’re using her as bait… you’d think if he can sense Obiwan’s presence he’d sure as fuck know she’s around… how is getting his kids in no way a priority? always found that to be a pretty big plot hole in the original trilogy too. Like, he has Leia captured, blows up her planet, wants to get info from her, but otherwise is all like “whatevs.” Obviously they hadn’t worked out Luke and Leia being his kids yet in a new hope… but Jesus. We know he wanted Luke to join him, now they’re filling in all the gaps and have no interest in providing any reason he doesn’t want to reclaim his children to turn them into little Sith demons?

I mentioned earlier I accept all of it as corny stupid fun. Don’t care if everything doesn’t always line up with all the mythology. Couldn’t give a fuck if they made a couple of the movies without the scene wipes. And I couldn’t give any shits who shot first and whatever edits they want to make to the original movies. But the Vader and his children thing seems to be a pretty huge hole.

He has no idea he even has kids at this point. To him, Leia is just some brat kid of a Senator. She's not important to him. And since she's had no kind of force training, he can't sense the force in her either so there's no interest in her from a force sensitive standpoint (they're killing/converting force sensitive kids)
