battery powered Ryobi. Works great.

I never had good luck with gas powered weed whackers. The electric means it starts every time.

interestingly, MIL is askin me for a recommendation -
they have a Home Depot in San Angelo,
and looks like the Makita XRU23SM1
would be good for her -
at only 7 lbs,
but also only a 18v battery -
she's 80, so i'm thinkin the weight factor
would make this a better choice
than the 11+ lb 40V Ryobi -

My son has this attachment for his trimmer. He says it's not great on grass, but cuts thru heavy shit with ease.

Anyone use this???

String trimmers are for grass & such.... Chain Saws & loppers are for everything else.

I’d be scared of the damage I would do. The temptation to use it where I shouldn’t would be too great. Only a matter of time before I was electrocuted or something.
