I was just reading up on everything that happened in New Orleans. Crazy they didn't even have the streets blocked off and cars could get in there on New Year's Eve.

Shame a University of Georgia student was one of the people critically injured. Stay safe if anyone from the board is there for the game

I have been to New Orleans so many times. The worst I experienced was a gunshot in the air close to me. This is awful. Whenever I was there, some streets blocked off but usually they aren’t. I would think for NYE they would be though. Even if they did have something it could have helped limit the damage. Just awful. I saw one video where bodies were just laying in the street. Makes me sick to my stomach for those killed, injured and their families

Bourbon Street was blocked off with barricades. The attacker drove up onto the sidewalk and around them.

Now it's being reported multiple explosives were detonated by police and that the FBI thinks there were other suspects involved.

Probably two big reasons for the delay as well.

The explosives are definitely the reason for the delay. They are going to have to sweep and clear the whole area.

ND grad and Dan Lebatard Show contributor Jess Smetana was at the Sugar Bowl, and on Bourbon Street according to her IG stories before the attack. Said she didn't stay out to late.

Memphis made the decision to block off Beale Street years ago with cylindrical steel and concrete barriers that ascend from the street during major events.

It was blocked. But just with regular traffic rails

Article I read said it was just traffic cones you could tip over with your finger. They have anti-Terror stainless steel poles to block the streets, but removed them in November because the trax kept getting clogged with beads and other trash from the street.

The witness they interviewed also stated other cars had driven down the street before that truck?!?

Have a feeling there will be all kinds of contradictory reporting on this and we likely will never get the full truth.
