Knoxville is coming after beer sales at Neyland Stadium during Tennessee football games.

The city is going after the vendor responsible for sales – Aramark – after there were three cases of underage sales and “general ‘disorderly’ conduct” on game days, according to USA Today. The city wants to suspend alcohol sales for three home games next season.

When you have a bunch of 21 year old kids that are friends with a bunch of 18-19-20 years old kids and you add in another 100k people it's pretty much impossible to stop underage drinking

Feels like a "see we tried to fix the problem" solution. Stopping sales at three random games will create a logistical nightmare.

Having grown up there and been to numerous games, there has always been drinking underage and otherwise, even when there was no alcohol sales in the stadium.

I really hope UM starts selling beer at the stadium someday. There's going to be a certain percentage who are drunk and disorderly with or without beer sales anyway.

I grew up in a college town. Sames.

People don't buy a ton of beer in the stadium, it's too expensive. You get wasted at the tailgate and just buy a couple in the stadium to maintain yer buzz. This is dumb.
Most used to get pretty tanked beforehand at tailgates or the bars close by, then sneak in a bottle or two of something in boots, jackets etc.

Truth. Although it's getting harder to sneak stuff in. Boots are usually best. The folks working "security" at the gates are usually too lazy to do much more than look in bags and open up your jacket/coat.

Alcohol is from the devil and UT fans are his servant.
Hail Satan?

We used to also wear camo or black pants we'd get at the Army/Navy store, basically BDU pants, they had huge pockets and they never checked them.
