Tennessee & Nico in a contract dispute?

Their first priority should be getting to the program that's going to prepare them best for the pros. The NIL is going to be there, a 19-21 year old doesn't need $4m a year when they're already getting $2.5m a year. This is blatant greed and it looks like it may end up costing him big time.
I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm. At least I hope it was.

amen

this is the problem. if a guy is serious about going to pros, then why the hell would he pick a bottom feeder like Tennessee?

With all the teams that have pulled out, I bet Tennessee is looking pretty nice right about now. Dude was given horrible advice, most likely his father from everything I'm seeing.

This dude just needs to take his L and take less money. It's still enough to have him on easy Street his whole life with what he has already gotten.

Something tells me he is going to double down on stupid though and do something like "sit out and prepare for next year's draft"
Buddy, this moron has spent his money as soon as he’s got it. If he doesn’t land in the NFL, I hope he either knows a trade or took his studies seriously, because he’s gonna be broke otherwise

Nico is going to get a lot of sympathy after all the hatred being spewed on him.. everyone is putting all their frustrations on him for wanting/demanding more money

He's going to bounceback wherever he ends up this season and teams will be lining up for him in December lol

He'd better hope he learns whatever new offense he winds up in quickly, and performs at a high level, or the NFL dreams are out the window. Right now he doesn't look draftable.

Highly debatable

But this does top Jamie Newman’s “I’m gonna sit out my senior season to prepare for the NFL draft” as all time stupid decisions made by QBs getting terrible advice.

Begging for more money in this way is either desperation because he’s already spent what he’s been paid, or stupidity. Either way, his NIL money will be dried up quickly when his playing days are done if he doesn’t land in the NFL

yeah.. when i demanded a raise or walk to a better offer.. it was because i was broke too :(

Almost assuredly right that it's all been spent already. He will get drafted though, strictly on potential alone. Maybe not the highest of draft picks if nothing changes but somewhere in there.

FWIW.. he has a do not contact tag now that he's officially in the portal

He didn’t walk because of a better offer. He got kicked to the curb when he demanded more money and now he’s gonna be playing for a lesser program for less money. It was a stupid play made by someone who’s clearly not smart enough to manage money well

For sure, but that 5th round contract won’t set you for life if you don’t stick

As funny as this is, it does suck. With him there, Tennessee was gonna be another easy win

Did you ask for over a 60% raise? Did you not actually have a better offer? That would make it a bit more comparable to this situation

And FTR, give me a few million dollars when I was 18-20, I probably would have OD’d. Probably a good thing that I was broke

lol no i didn't have an offer.. i was actually wanting to leave because the new dept head was so dry and making us coders do extra work that we didn't have to do..

They folded quickly.. looking back i should have asked for more.. BTW that same woman got transferred to another dept, so it's been as good as it was before she arrived :)
