Once again OU is the toughest game on the texas schedule.

Lol Texas agreed to this home and home in 2014 after Michigan went 5-7 and Georgia is in your conference now.

Texas generally does schedule a marquee team OOC but this was a weird flex
you really think that was the only reason? They scheduled them because it's a blue blood.. same as when they scheduled for Alabama WITH Saban as HC.. and the reason they scheduled tosu.. maybe it's those schools that only scheduled Texas thinking Chuck was going to be the coach here forever???

Hell they scheduled SC when Pete was still HC there

i mean it's the game ou peaked a year ago in.. so I'll give you that

I have a different view than most on polls. I think we should just react to current information and not project. There should be a lot volatility and over-reaction in the first month. Eventually things will smooth themselves out, as we get more data points. There is a great argument for Texas to be #1 this week. I don’t think it happens with Ewers injury. Georgia’s performance was not #1 worthy. They should move down. I still think they are the best team and will get back to #1, but hard to ignore the poor showing last night. You could make an argument for Tenn based on the first few weeks
I have weighed these two options every single year. Do I go by the here and now? Do I sort of ignore the loss and/or bad showing and still predict how I think the season will play out for that team? I am more of a current situation also.

Goddamn I hope so.

Just don’t fuck it up until we beat that ass.

y'all ain't beating nobody's ass.. despite your highlight reel game from a season ago.. it was DG that had to save y'all with his magical legs in the 4th qtr.. I'll take Arnold and his pea brain thinking.. #HookEm

It was also DG that lost to Kansas and Osu.

Yeah, that "you scheduled them when they were down" is a nonsense argument when you're talking about scheduling a blue blood. These games are scheduled years in advance.

If you schedule a blue blood years in advance, there's at least a decent chance that they will be good when you finally play them. Even if they're down when the game is scheduled. There's also a chance that your own program will be down when the game is played.

You schedule some directional school years in advance, you're just trying to schedule a W because you know there is little chance they will be a threat when the game is played.

I'm well aware Texas generally schedules marquee matchups as I stated, it was just weird to brag about scheduling "the defending national champs" and Georgia

yeah UGA isn't going to drop.. Texas will stay at 2..

and if everything holds firm.. we'll have a 1 vs 2 matchup next month

The powers that be will make sure that happens.....

Seems there are two different "metrics" used to come up with rankings.

Do you rank the teams on past performance or on expected future performance?

Which one dominates during the season? Hmmm.....
