“You play the defending national champs in their house and the preseason #1 team which also won the previous two nattys. You have an easy schedule.”
I said you had the easiest schedule in the SEC. That's not debatable.
- You realize there are 12 games, right? Defending NC could have been tough, but they suck this year. You don't get credit for what they were last year. No credit there other than playing a mediocre P4 team. Same with us - we got a Clemson that looks non-good, same with Bama who got Wisky.
- Your toughest SEC opponent you get at home. Meanwhile that opponent gets 3 of the toughest SEC teams on the road. Can you see the difference there?
- Right now the SEC has 6 of the top 7 teams in the country. You play 1 of them - UGA - at home. You want to argue that isn't a nice thing to have? Meanwhile, UGA gets 4 of those 6, 3 of them on the road. You think you would be looking at this season a little differently if you had that schedule? Let's compare those 6 top teams:
- UGA - @Texas, @Bama, @Ole Miss, UTjr, Clemson
- TX - UGA, OU, @ATM, Kentucky, Michigan
- OU - UTjr, TX, @Ole Miss, @Mizzou, @LSU, Bama - sheesh
- Bama - UGA, @Mizzou, @UTjr, @LSU, @OU,
- UTjr - @OU, @UGA, Bama, (they also get VU, UF, MSU, Arky - worst teams)
- Ole Miss - @LSU, OU, UGA, Kentucky
- Mizzou - @ATM, @Bama, OU
Honestly, which of those teams do you want to switch with?
- The worst 4 teams in the SEC are Vandy (got railed by G6 GaState), Arkansas (barely beat UAB), MSU (got railed by G6 Toledo), and UF that is likely to have an interim coach and will lose 8 games. You get all 4 - we get 2.
With a 12 team CFP you will likely have to play some of those top 6 teams to win it all. We will see what happens against us in Austin, and then some of those teams in the CFP-12.
Look, you can only play who is on your schedule. But let's not act like you have a tough SEC schedule. You just don't.
