GAME Texas A&M (3-2) at #1 Alabama (5-0) | 8pm EDT on CBS

Yeah my SEC homerism is really coming out when my main contention for why Georgia's schedule is tougher than Ohio State's schedule has to do with Oregon... especially since Oregon is in the SEC...

Georgia's win over Oregon is more impressive than anything Ohio State has done to date. Ohio State has literally only played one Power 5 team that may have a winning record at the end of season to date (Notre Dame). I am not even 100% sold they win the B1G East because Michigan and Penn State are both very good this year.

My point is that Ohio State has not played anyone yet that can matchup with them talent-wise at any position. Perhaps maybe Notre Dame in week 1... we will find out more about Ohio State later in the season. Alabama and Georgia have actually played some talented teams with a pulse that have got them into struggles.

In many ways, though, the team with the most impressive resume to date isn't even being discussed; that is Clemson.

Homer on.

Georgia hasn't been winning games like they should.

The Oregon game was an opener. It's well known that a team makes (or should make) it's most improvements between weeks 1 and 2.
Georgia beat (2-4) Kent St 39-22. Oklahoma beat them 33-3. Washington beat them 45-20.
Georgia beat Missouri 26-22. Kansas St beat Missouri 40-12.

You're pimping Penn St because they beat Auburn (oh an SEC team) like a drum 41-12.

News Flash!!! Auburn is terrible.

You and WhoPhoneDis should get a room and give each other reach-arounds.

If anything, you sound like the homer claiming Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Rutgers as great wins. Ohio State ran up the score on teams that could not match up with them. Congrats. Do that to Michigan and Penn State and then we can talk.

I think they play Iowa this weekend, correct? They haven't been that great this year but they are probably stronger right now than anyone Ohio State has played to date.

How many years have we heard about Ohio State only to have them lose to Penn State, Michigan, or in the first round of playoffs?

I am NOT saying they are NOT legit but I want to see them actually play someone good before I make a judgment call on them.

Again.... Ohio St won those games like they should have.

Georgia did not beat Kent St or Missouri like they should have.

With the Auburn win, Georgia is basically Penn St. That's why you're here pimping Penn St.

Who has Penn St played?
Purdue (4-2): 35-31
Purdue's great wins are Florida Atlantic 28-26, Minnesota 20-10, and Maryland 31-29.
Central Michigan (1-5): 33-14
Northwestern (1-5): 17-7

Same story every year with you guys. We will see.

I am not pimping anything, I am just stating the reality that has happened the last 10 years or so. Ohio State (or Oklahoma) always get all this hype for running up the score on their weaker opponents but then run into someone that is actually good and get beat.

Clemson and Southern California have more impressive resumes because they have actually played and beat good teams.

Again, you're pimping Penn St because they destroyed SEC's Auburn.
Auburn's terrible, and you can't give me a good Penn St win other than that. Hence your homerism.

Ditto to you. Pimping Ohio State despite not having a single win against a team with a winning record.

Purdue was a good win for Penn State, they may likely win B1G West. Teams have bad games. In fact, the teams that grit out wins like Clemson this year have been historically the teams that win it all.

Edit: Actually Notre Dame is 3-2 so Ohio State has one win over a team with winning record and that was a close matchup.

Ohio St won the CFP in 2014 (Bama 42-35/Oregon 42-20) and were in the CFP championship game after the 2020 season. They beat Clemson 49-28 to get to that championship game.

"But in the last 10 years Ohio St runs into someone good and gets beat"

Again, that was tOSU's opener. Teams typically get better between weeks 1 and 2.

Oregon has gotten better since their blowout loss to Georgia in their opener.
Do you think Georgia would blow Oregon out right now the same way they did in the opener?

No. I'm not pimping Ohio St. I'm anything but a Big 10 homer.

I'm simply calling you out for being a narrow minded homer.

You're pimping Penn St because they beat SEC's Auburn like a drum. Penn St's been anything but impressive outside of that win.

But homer on!!

Now post all of their losses in that span. They are generally overhyped every year. They had 2014 and that is it. Granted, they have been one of the most consistent programs in College Football (along with Oklahoma) but they are generally overhyped more than any other team. Everyone on here is arguing they should be #1 but they haven't played anyone with a pulse to earn that ranking. Clemson, Georgia, USC, etc. would be blowing out the teams on Ohio State's schedule as well with the exception of maybe Notre Dame who has athletes to compete with top 25 programs.

You flaming homer. Georgia couldn't blow Kent St or Missouri out.

So Penn State hasn't played anyone but Ohio State has? What has Ohio State done to date that Penn State hasn't?

You also blow off opener games but use Penn State's opening win over Purdue to say they are not good.

We are going to find out how good Penn State is when they play Michigan Saturday in a premier matchup. Ohio State still hasn't had that big-time matchup yet.

Georgia has Oregon.
Clemson has NC State and Wake Forest
USC has the road game at Oregon State and home game against Washington State.
Alabama has Texas, Arkansas, and Texas A&M
Oklahoma State has Baylor and Texas Tech

All have had challenging matchups which Ohio State hasn't played yet. Usually Michigan State and Wisconsin are solid games but they are having an abnormally bad year. Both teams had quit and by the time they played Ohio State and were just walk over games for the Buckeyes. No real challenge/test for Ohio State yet.

Out of all the contenders listed above, Ohio State has been the most untested. You can maybe say Michigan as well and I would agree with you although I do think their wins over Maryland and Iowa were impressive.

Again....

Ohio St has won all their games (except their opener w/ND) like they should have.

Outside of a big wins over a terrible Auburn team, Penn St has not. Georgia has not.

But you're an SEC honk, so I get you pimping Penn St and Georgia.

3-3 A&M is a quality win? Not sure where that is coming from. They lost to 3-3 App State at home, who just lost to Texas State. You are making fun of Ohio State for beating 3-3 teams, but then claim 3-3 teams like A&M and Arkansas are quality wins. Don’t you find that a bit biased?

They are pretty much the Iowa of the SEC (except they have talent but coaching staff is too stupid to use it). They got a great defense but offense is horrendous.

I only put them on the list because they were the prime night time ESPN game and they were sandwiched between Arkansas and Tennessee for Alabama.

Ark is 3-3 also. A&M is quality win, because they played at night? Does that mean Texas didn’t play a quality opponent, because they played Bama at 11 am?

If I'm an SEC homer, I'm giving Georgia far too much credit for beating the crap out of Oregon in the opener where Oregon had an entirely new coaching staff and players.

It was a prime time game on television against a team with top 5 recruiting classes the last 3-4 years and a National Title winning coaching (granted that has really sucked it up). Texas A&M has the players, they just haven't figured out how to put it together as a team. I agree this one is questionable, I just put it there because of the facts/story around the game.

They key part being they haven’t figured out yet. Like I said your opinion is based on your personal bias and projections. Your own statements do not make sense. How can you say “A&M hasn’t figured out yet” and say beating them is a quality win?
