We may have been at one time, but no way we are snobby regarding Clemson/FSU now. If either of them wanted to join, we'd be in.
I don't buy that. You guys added Maryland + Rutgers last round and still come across as pretentious as far as the whole AAU thing goes.

Wait wait wait...

So the Big Ten cares about academics SOOOOO much, they'd be willing to invite a school that made up fake departments for their athletes to get phony degrees???

No way ... one of the main complaints with divisions now is that we don't play the other teams often enough. Pods handles that. The tie breaker for the CCG is my main concern. What if you have four 7-1 teams? With the CFP going to 12, can't do a Conf playoff. Also can't eliminate games to do it.
Unbalanced schedules are just sloppy and illogical.

*Cough* Nebraska *cough*

Bring something to the table and academics don't matter as much

They protect child rapists to help maintain the prestige of their athletic departments. You think they are drawing the line at fake classes?

Nebraska was an AAU member when they were added, though. There is nothing out there that suggests that the Big Ten would add a non-AAU member.

For expansion here a couple things to remember:

- The PAC will have to settle for MW teams, and or some of what's left of the B12.

All this is based on the idea we are heading toward 4 16 team P5 conferences that will then split from the NCAA, at least for football.

not a big issue if playing pods.

NW OR,WA schools
Cali schools
AZ schools Utah and Colorado
4 BigXII schools picked up

Who do you think the PAC would want to add from the Big 12 right now?

This is my larger point, people keep talking about "academics" as if that matters. If a conference has a chance to add a marquee school from another league, they're going to do it.

Maybe the Pac 12 is an exception, even so they took Colorado and Utah

The PAC isn't the exception. There's a difference between not wanting to add a marquee school and not being able to do so. The PAC falls in the latter.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. maybe the Kansas schools but thats a lot of milage

I could see the following:

Kansas
Oklahoma State
Texas Tech
TCU/Baylor/Houston

Maybe they ditch Kansas and take two of the East Texas schools

LOL...I didn't wanna be mean...

Geography doesn't help.

Geography is a curse and a blessing. The blessing is that it makes the PAC 12 an extremely hard conference to raid. This makes the PAC 12 pretty stable, even when it's struggling.

Ok who are the realistic options?
the unsuspecting move would be Nebraska.
if Pac went for say TT, Kansas and Kansas State then pitched to Nebraska about renewed rivalries with Colorado and Kansas and such but prob unlikely

Nobody is leaving the Big Ten for the PAC at this point. Revenue gap is too large to justify the move.
