ACC needs to play hard ball with Notre Dame. They've got a good opportunity to establish a strong presence in the Northeast and they can't let ND screwing around as an Independent mess that up.

ACC North:
Syracuse
Boston College
Pittsburgh
Notre Dame
West Virginia
Louisville
Virginia
Virginia Tech

ACC South:
Florida State
Miami FL
Georgia Tech
Clemson
UNC
NC State
Wake
Duke

They had their chance, and let us have a pretty sweet deal. I don't see ND joining anytime soon, if ever.

True. It's not a great chance but Baylor definitely is more appealing than anyone in the B12 not named KU or WVU. At least right now . And the B10 isn't going to add just 1 team if they expand

If WVU goes ACC and B10 takes KU who do you think makes more sense to take for the B10 as the 16th team ?

If UT and OU are out of the picture, then KU and ND are the best options.

We aren't getting ND brother lol. We've been through this . If we add KU and can't get WVU we need 1 more .

Normally, I'd agree. But college athletics is a weird everchanging world now.

IF this move by UT and OU is a real thing and actually happens, then the signal towards super conferences has fully been lit. The powers that dictate who qualifies for the CFB playoff could force ND's hand to join somewhere.

I hear the Big 12 might have an opening...

If ND ever does a conference it's going to be the ACC. That will still provide ND to play a somewhat national schedule going up and down the east coast.

Also, with the CFP probably going to 12, ND doesn't really need to join for CFP purposes either.

2 local Sports stations talking about it if you are interested.

Radio guy said A&M leaked this rumor to get all this started and make Texas look desperate and that A&M won’t let em in...

:pop2:

Would be funny if the SEC accepted OU and rejected Texas. My UT to the B1G dreams would live on.

I could definitely see Super Conferences dictating who gets in more in the future though. If you control all the power and money, why keep the door open for an outsider to win a championship?

ND has rivalries with PAC schools & B1G schools in football and due to their non-football sports being associated with the BigEast and now the ACC for a while they have rivalries with those schools as well. They could go wherever they wanted, but at the end of the day I do think they will go somewhere if this all comes to pass.

Yeah, but does that do anything for them really?
Money wise, I can't see it.
honestly no. if USC cant make conference title game every year playing any 4 combo of those 6 and the Arizona schools tho....

Baylor has a shot to get a B10 invite imo but only if they move quick. Coming off natty in bball it's the time to try and pair with KU and protect themselves. If they wait and then the B10 decides KU and WVU make more sense geographically Baylor is probably hosed
Nobody wants Baylor. They should ask Liberty, TCU, SMU, and BYU to start a religious league. Maybe get Oral Roberts to join for baseball and basketball. Bob Jones could join for...I dunno, chess or something

Bama going east puts Bama&OU in the CCG most years, that’s the thinking. Auburn would be a good fit too for weekly matchups (UGA of course/UT/UF) that’s be great but “stacking the deck” a bit to get Bama v OU ccg most years would be better for the conference imo.

If you CAN get Texas over any other B12 team then of course you do but the rest including WVU are all about the same interest wise but WVU is ready made (gateway to the southeast like Mizzu is to the west) for regionally interesting games, not blockbuster granted but you would get even less interest from the west/Midwest schools imo.
People in the southeast just wouldn’t be as interested in watching (for instance) Okie State v Arkansas as they would a WVU v UK game.
Auburn's historical opponents were always Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama.
Alabama's historical opponents were LSU, Ole Miss, Tenn and Auburn.

The only scenario where Alabama goes to the east is if they move both Auburn and Alabama with the LSU game being Alabama's permanent cross rival. Absolutely nothing else would ever be agreed to and that won't happen because it would way overstack the east and Alabama isn't going to give up a cushy cross rival as they've had it super easy for years playing TN and Vandy unless they have to.

Auburn staying in the West and Alabama moving to the east is absolute non-sense, would never happen and the scenarios in your head are based off the last couple of years and dick to do with historical precedent. Alabama and Oklahoma will not be on top forever and Oklahoma is going to find out how hard it is to win a conference and it's debatable how often they will sniff the SECCG.
