By the way, if this happens there are going to be some old Ark and Texas fans really happy. I saw one Pod system that had Texas with Arkansas, A&M, and OU. That is actually bringing back some historic rivalry games. I doubt there are many people in the board that actually experienced Texas/Ark rivalry in its heyday, but the stories paint it as an ugly hate filled rivalry
Texas/Arkansas was must see TV back in the day. Royal vs Broyles

Won’t happen. Pods will have to be more balance and OU, Texas and aTm are three big draws.

OU and Texas are tied and I can see Arkansas there but I bet aTm ends up with LSU.
No idea how it ends up. Pod system or divisional system. The point being this is probably an exception to the rule, where it will actually bring back some historic rivalries

Odd thing to say in a thread where A&M is working to stop Texas dead in its tracks. That's the epitome of "doing something".
quite sad, actually.
And the SEC doesn't care to flag hand signals that aren't middle fingers. Might be a deal breaker for those pussies in Austin.
how can you speak for the conference.. You aren't at the big table, you are at the small table drinking caprisuns. And the beauty in all of this is seeing y'alls true inferior complex as a fanbase come out publicly
In pods, you will play them every other year. Might not want to be too brash ... right now they'd spank your ass every time you played.

Let's not forget that if the 12 team CFP had been in place the last decade, UT would have this many appearances: 0

Somewhere Geoff Schwartz is sobbing

I bet UGA’s pod is South Carolina, Vandy and Kentucky or some shit
Everything I've seen it's UGA, UF, USCjr, Kentucky

We would also get UA, OU, UT, LSU, TAMU, AU every other year. That's nothing to complain about.

Basically something like

- POD, UA, OU, UT one year
- POD, AU, LSU, TAMU one year

Obviously leaving out the lesser schools we would play. I mean UF, Bama, Oklahoma, and Texas every other year works for me. UF, Auburn, LSU and TAMU every other year.

So if Texas and OU join the SEC (which will supposedly be officially decided in the next week or two), the B1G, ACC, and PAC are probably going to try to respond with a little expansion of their own, who do they go after?

There are no remaining P5s that hold the money or success of Texas and OU, but I would assume based on proximity and history...

B1G picks up
WVU
ISU

ACC picks up
UCF
Memphis?

PAC picks up
Boise St
BYU?
T-Tech?
Baylor?

Idk, I am not a fan of the idea of superconferences, I would rather all schools be independent if those were my two choices honestly.

PAC won’t add BYU or Boise. If they are going to expand (and I’m not convinced they will) they will be looking to add Texas schools.

Would be Terrible pick ups for the B1G. Neither would add any value to tv contract. Someone gonna pick up Kansas for their basketball

Yeah, I was going more for proximity in those cases, but I do think Boise would be a good pick up. BYU would at least add one more national title to the conference lol.

But yeah, Texas schools, for stronger holds in those recruiting grounds is more likely.

Yeah, I am not thinking in terms of basketball. The most basketball I watch is some March Madness here and there, just not my sport.

But I don't think there are too many 'good' options remaining. I would much rather prefer returning to the way things used to be. Things feel so out of control and ridiculous right now

Btw, everyone is assuming Missouri will vote no but I saw interview about it with their AD and Coach and they were speaking positively about Oklahoma and Texas as if they wanted them in the SEC.

That is rich since Missouri was a Doormat in the Big12, Big8, Big7, Big6

I wouldn't call them a doormat. They won several B1G titles. They had a better program than either Kansas teams, Baylor, Iowa State, and until T Boone Pickens Oklahoma State. They were a mid-tier team, not bottom feeder.

OK, gimme your opinion on whether or not Oklahoma could/would/should still try to schedule Oklahoma State every year (kinda like USC/Notre Dame do) so we can keep that rivalry alive and calm down the instate politics if this SEC thing with OU comes true.

I think you should. SEC already has 4 annual non conference rivalry games(UGA-GT, UF-FSU, UK-Louisville, SC-Clemson)

Sure
Why not.

It is currently the most lopsided conference series in the History of College Football.
