so the letter they sent the SEC says for 2025
Right now they're bound by their TV contracts that run through 2025. The B10 actually has a great opportunity here because ours runs out in 2022 I believe.
Common criticism of the rusty cows was what I was referring to.
It would be funny but the PAC and B1G offer invitations the minute after. Not going to happen, but man would it be funny if the SEC told them "no thanks".
you gotta admit tho
Sir Yacht is a totally reliable source and rarely gets things wrong
Don’t forget the real prediction guru TheConfidante2nd only to @droider and @OregonDucks

While that is true, if I was a fan I would still be pissed and disappointed that we will finish 3-6 in the conference each year.Doesn't matter anymore. It is about how much money you can get. Like Jerry Jones' Cowgirls. Biggest money maker in the NFL and hasn't won shit in long time. Not winning is okay as long as the cash in rolling in.
I think some of the A&M negativity is posturing for the fanbase as well.
I'm trying to find specifics but it's a bit hard to follow given all the partnerships and side deals. I heard it on the radio on my drive in this morning. The conference's deal with the B10 network runs through 2032 but who gets to air those games seems like it's split. From what I found,Big 10 contract with FOX/ESPN expires in 2025.
BTN contract with FOX expires in 2032.
That is a good thing since the new SEC contract doesn't start until 2024. You're better off being on the backside of this as that gives you more time and information regarding what the rates are.
The SEC deal dumped CBS and is now exclusive to ESPN. That leaves the Big 10 door open to not 'just' ESPN, but also to other networks if those other networks want to stay competitive in this CFB cash cow.
The Big 12 contract is heavily weighted with FOX and that appears to be going bye-bye.
The Big 10 needs to expand a couple more teams that at least broaden their footprint some (Kansas/Colorado). The only homeruns would be Texas/Notre Dame and that's unlikely. The Big 10 already has 4 anchor bluebloods so they'll be safe.
The Big 10 needs to focus on getting the most bang for it's buck regarding expansion teams and let the dust settle on the SEC/TX/OU thing. Then go into media rights negotiations with all information available.
I think the Big 10 comes out of this with a new contract in 2025 that's at least as good as the SEC's if not even a bit better.
As opposed to the SEC being exclusive ESPN, the Big 10 can make their contract a conglomerate of ESPN/FOX/CBS. maybe even NBC.
When reading @fordman84 comments, I'd say it's working
I don't care what the official word from the school is. Most of my dislike for this is due to shithead Jexas fans that I have dealt with over the decades. When reading @fordman84 comments, I'd say it's working

What we know about the new Big Ten rights deal
ESPN, Fox and CBS signed their new deals with the Big Ten last year, but it only took the conference another 13 months to officially announce them. So we know that all three networks will be airing Big Ten games, The ESPN Family of Networks/Fox Sports Group on football and CBS/ESPN/Fox on...awfulannouncing.com
Fox Sports has partial rights through 2022-2023:
"With Fox Sports in, it means that there’s a new place to watch Big Ten games after ABC/ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU and Big Ten Network had aired them dating back to 2007. Now Fox has joined the party through the 2022-23 season."
Everything I'm finding says the Fox deal, signed in 2017, runs for 6 years and expires in the 2022-2023 season. So we should be headed for an open bidding on airing some games via partnership with the B10 network.
Bobby the Brain is perfect SEC material.
