Finebaum was on fire yesterday. He said Texas has just been riding the coat tail of OU and the reason Texas was even invited was to get the Sooners. Guy is entertaining.

I see @ralphiewvu 's point in that schools can just tell the Big 12 to keep their $19 mil share from TX/OU on agreement they'll be cut loose without any further penalty.

Again.... Nobody do anything until the TX/OU timetable matters are settled. SEC voting seems to just be a formality so that should be rather soon.
Kinda, my whole point was it behooves the other 8 to make a move to another P4 if they can. Even if they have to pay the 76 mill it’ll be worth it to keep P5 status and continue collect decent (ACC/Pac) to great (B1G) paychecks compared to the alternative.

I would argue it’ll be down to what the B1G/KU does. That’d be the first domino.

TCU??

DFW market is pretty damn good

I think Texas vs. Texas A&M is going to be one heck of a rivalry game similar to Alabama-Auburn in the SEC. It helps the SEC to have both of these teams. The other Colleges in Texas are going to be holding the bag looking on the outside. It might have helped Big12 stability had they only had two teams in Texas as opposed to four.

LOL if you think TCU carries the DFW market. But I get it.. have schools play there from the PAC for recruiting purposes.. but I think there are more Tech Alumni in that area than TCU ones tbh

Kansas doesn't appear to be in the cards. They prefer the Big Ten and the PAC is concerned their football program will only damage the perception of the PAC. TCU isn't in play. There's very little interest in adding them.
If the PAC really cares about football they would have already added Boise and BYU. Because not only does it give you football but gives you two huge markets and a team like by people nationally.

Kansas could absolutely be in the cards. Plus it could have travel partners like I mentioned. The PAC needs to be proactive.

3 was the nice number..

Pac12 should at least grab Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. Both would be upgrade for league. Go to 14 and then wait it out. Nobody else in the Pac12 (except maybe Kansas) helps them. Perhaps Kansas and Iowa State as the last two.

Texas Tech is in a different region than Texas and A&M so they have been able to build a Texas base better than other schools like Baylor and TCU which really don't have enough of a fanbase to justify adding them.

Boise and BYU? Hell BYU wasn't even good enough for a Big12 conference that was looking to fill in #9 and #10 a decade ago. Boise St?? What is that going to do?

Doesn’t matter if a single person watches them. Cable company can still charge its subscribers. Right now that matters some. As streaming continues, it won’t but now it does.

Bring tech, junior, TCU and if not Kansas then kstate.

Can be pod paradise in the PAC.

Wonder what the TV execs would say from their POV

Texas Tech would have been the third. In a way, Texas Tech is so far west, they have their own region. It is like Memphis and Tennessee. There really isn't a large following of the Vols in Memphis due to how far it is from Knoxville. Lubbock is pretty far away from Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, Waco, etc.

He said if it was about football. Who else is the PAC going to add? It’s the B12 orphans or Boise/byu

Anyone who suggests the PAC should add BYU and Boise doesn't know what they are talking about.

I don't know how much of DFW TCU really controls. yeah the school is here, but they are about the 4th or 5th fiddle in the metroplex. I'd say the major players in DFW are Texas, A&M, and OU. After that I think I know more SMU power players than TCU ones.

Then stop suggesting the pac cares about their football perception.

I think most are already carrying the PAC N.. if not it's available for free on Samsung TV. Again I'm not sure how much value it brings but.. PAC is in between a rock and a hard place so, it can only bring something in, right?

Still to have a PAC team there the tv company’s can charge their subscribers even if they don’t watch anything. A chance to perhaps have an addition that makes the pie bigger.
