GTech, Minnesota, Colorado, UCLA, NC State, Arizona State all get invited? Why? DropDeadFred picking the teams?
Well all with the exception of NC State have had relative success and all other than NC State and ASU have national titles. Plus, to reach 50, you have to assume a fair amount of middle will stay as well.

B1G needs to either be reaching out to the PAC and the ACC or they need to be reaching out to the SEC and discussing a merger there.

I mean, we all know that is where this is all eventually leading. We are going to roughly a 50 team league, with split revenue, there own rules and governing body and probably a restructuring alignment geographically with an actual scheduling system. There will be a 3-4 permanent games for rivalries and the rest will likely rotate into having A,B,C,D schedules with an 8 team playoff. 5 region champions and 3 at large, hopefully similarly picked with how the BCS worked. Anywhere from 15-18 total games per season plus playoff. Shit, without the NCAA and a new governing body, we might even get a preseason where they play G5 or FCS opponents. This is what the NFL lite (that ppl keep saying) will look like imo.

once Disney buys the rest of Fox that is.

That is the point of all of this realignment, to set aside the big dogs, the ones with the biggest revenue, biggest fanbases, biggest following, biggest stadiums, etc... this is about weeding out the smaller guys. That is why the B1G taking on Kansas doesn't make much sense. Yeah it is good for basketball, but it isn't like the B1G sucks at basketball anyway. Kansas can join up with Creighton and join the Big East for basketball and just drop football.

I just want everything to be done already so we can stop worrying about the next moves, establish or re-establish rivalries and traditions and make CFB good again.
:dingdingding: They just need to do it and quit pussyfooting around.

teams at the bottom of all time win% in the P5
Wake Forest, Indiana, Northwestern, Kansas State, Iowa State, Oregon State, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Duke, Miss St, Rutgers, Washington State, Kentucky, Illinois, South Carolina

thats 15
eliminates 2 ACC
4 Big Ten
2 Pac
4 SEC
3 Big XII
You have to take basketball into consideration or do you hate that sport also?

Idk honestly, maybe, maybe not. We know certain teams from each conference will be though

SEC - Bama, LSU, Florida, UGA, Tenn, A&M, OU, Texas, Auburn
ACC - Clemson, Miami, FSU, North Carolina, Va Tech, NC State, G-tech
B1G - Ohio St, Michigan, Michigan St, Penn St, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota
PAC - Oregon, Washington, USC, UCLA, Colorado, Stanford, Cal, Arizona St

That's 32 right there. And there maybe more included in that depending on who you ask.

Then the remaining 18 spots will be filled with the best leftovers, with some G5 competition such as Cincy, BYU, Memphis, UCF, Boise St, Houston, etc...Plus, obviously Notre Dame will be taking a spot as well.

If it makes you feel any better, I would have WVU in the remaining 18, probably Pitt too so that we can get that rivalry back. But it is going to be a tight fit and a lot will get left out.
If we are talking true national brands/revenue magnets and being very sincere about it, that top list can be cut nearly in 1/2 by eliminating the bolded schools....and possibly a few more.

I think "Football only" conferences are the way to go. Hoops and other sports is a different story.

Hmmm, perception is Texas Tech has been at the bottom for many years. I would have thought they were too in listening to all the static.

Well, here we go. According to Dennis Dodd, the only teams left that move the needle on the level of Texas and Oklahoma are Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and USC...and three of those four are non starters.

What about USC and the PAC

"While college sports wonders whether there will be a total reset of the competitive and financial models, for now, the talking points have come down to the statuses of a precious few schools. There are four pieces left on the board, per se, that approach the value of Texas and Oklahoma: Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and USC."

"Ohio State and Michigan have no interest in leaving the Big Ten. Currently the richest, oldest conference in existence, it is paying members approximately $54 million per year....Until further notice, Notre Dame is locked into its independence....That leaves USC. The Trojans have options. USC has one of the most recognizable brands in sports. It resides in the nation's second-biggest television market. It possesses desirable academics and athletics. It would likely enhance any conference's media rights contract."

They can write all the letters they want, but if you didn't see the Big XII lagging further behind in payouts vs the BIG and SEC, you weren't paying attention.

Did people really think that Oklahoma and Texas would just sit around forever and do nothing????
People want to think it 'came out of nowhere'. This has been coming on for years.

It's been a problem since 2012.

Not really the point of the letter though.

Did ESPN get the ball rolling and/or what influence did they have between TX/OU and the SEC?

If an investigation were opened then subpoenas would certainly be issued for emails, phone calls, texts, and other related documents.

at current 65 teams in power conferences and Notre Dame.
if its 50 who gets dropped?

I’m asking mainly because I can’t see teams like Rutgers, Oregon State, Washington State and BC included while Okie St, WVU, Texas Tech and Kansas St get excluded. Just my opinion though.

I was taking it as football breaking free of the NCAA to do its own thing (which it kind of half way is already)

missouri was 66
TT is at 60

This all time win % i have been using may only be 1 consideration BC win % all time is .574 while ok state is .520, kansas State is .454
TT is .552

WVU should 100% be in as they are in the top 25 of P5 schools in all time win %.

Ohh I get it and it’s not just about WVU. It seems silly to have a team like Rutgers in there over an Oklahoma state. That was really what I was wondering.

It’s going to suck but I fully expect WVU not to get a seat at the table.

You could add BC that’s fine. It just feels odd leaving out a team like Oklahoma state while some others I mentioned would be in.

They're #23 all time in win%.

Of course they will.
