Those dumbass PPV games, at least in OU's case, were games that the networks didn't want to air.

So OU found a way to make $$$ off of them.

Welcome to the SEC where all your football and basketball games will be televised for free.

Your welcome.

You telling me the Big XII couldn’t provide free games, oh that’s right - LHN>Conference.

It’s been a long time by time since I even heard the term “PPV football game”. Oh wait, I forgot I pay to stream YouTube TV - so there’s that!

I don’t know if a single game that is not televised for Michigan or Ohio State. I didn’t realize that Oklahoma was some third rate program.

I’m not sure if it was the B12 but in 2019 I had to buy ESPN+ to watch WVU play a B12 conference football game. (Which is utter bullshit). I can’t remember if it’s all B12 teams or just the mediocre/bad ones but I believe the same happened last year for WVU as well. And of course, this year we have one on ESPN + that I know of but that’s an OOC game against a 1AA patsy. (Which will be closer then it should be)

I kind of think it was something the B12 agreed to with ESPN.

SEC has SEC plus on ESPN plus as well. But majority of Big12 games were televised on FS1/ESPN2/U. Texas just had one game on LHN for the most part

SEC has most of its major games on ESPN 1, ESPN 2, ESPN, CBS, etc. In fact most of the major leagues only have their mid/low tier games on their Networks for Football.

However, SEC network does a great job with Basketball, Baseball, and the non-football sports.

I’m completely against this move but they should have joined the BIG 10 for balance. Too much power here. Some of these blue bloods will be .500 teams in a decade.

That's exactly what was planned. The SEC AND Texas/Oklahoma wanted such.

Random prediction time. Texas A&M finally will break through and win the SEC west. Georgia wins SEC. Playoffs: Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M.

They very well could. Schedule is favorable. They get Bama in Kyle Field and their crossover games are South Cackalacky and Mizzou.

I was just looking at A&M's history in football at the following website:

They had some great teams in the 1980s and 1990s. They actually beat Texas far more often than Texas beat them.

I am looking forward to seeing the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry return. I think it is going to be more intense and a better game now that the other Texas teams are out of the picture. This will probably be one of the MUST WATCH games of CFB every year. Texas was a little oversatured having 5 Power programs in the same state. It didn't help that Oklahoma, SEC schools, and Arkansas are also in the region recruiting out of the state. (To me, Oklahoma is almost like an in-state school for Texas as well since they have such a presence there).

I wonder if the move will actually ripple out of area to the benefit of Big ten and Pac 12.
like the handful of 5* and the 4* players that would normally go to the other 8 schools would now consider outside the area.

There are many that refer to them as The University of Texas at Norman, OK.
