The 1960-1989 & 1990-2019 Two Team NFL Draft : CHAT

my receivers weren’t splash names. But people put waaaay too much stock in receivers in these imo.

Receiver is always a little weird in these, and tend to get a lot of attention, but only certain ones. I had 3 with 10,000 career yards and 70+ tds from an era before 10,000 was 10 years, and I was sure I wasn't gonna get a great rating for them. Just the way these things happen.

I tend to point to Monk and Largent as evidence of this. Both those guys led the NFL all time in receptions at a point and don't seem to get quite the love on that level. Granted Monk led it for like 4 seconds lol.

Monk doesn't have the pro bowl resume but again...Rice and Largent are a big reason for that.

You nabbed both those guys right before I wanted them. Williams has been underrated his entire career because Washington is a cluster.
You got me on Ron Yary believe we had the same idea building all time great olines. Otto will always be the best Center in my book tho. You had one of my favorite teams Smitty. Stakes 90-19 Defense was the scariest and Stokes 90-19 offense was wicked imo

Absolutely agree, neither gets the love they should. Largent had nothing to do with Monk not making the pro bowl, Seattle was an AFC team back then.

Lol duh. Let's all pretend I didn't say that

Add in Faulk who is one of only 3 running backs with 10k rushing and 5k receiving yards. Along with TO, One of the best jump ball WRs in Megatron with Hill and Metcalfs speed and Gronk at TE. Would be pretty hard to stop great draft stoke

Honestly, Largent held receptions, yards and tds while playing with average at best QBs and for a coach nicknamed ground chuck for a good portion of his career. Dude was the only weapon Seattle had some years and he was still constantly wide open. Nearly uncoverable.

Yeah, it's the underrated players I used to make up for all that draft capital that didn't get much love though...... :dhd:
