Movie The Batman (2022)

Should have kept that in. I like that take on Joker. Hopefully he has an increased role but still locked up in the 2nd one and it all just builds up to him being the main villian in the 3rd.

I hope the next Batman movie isn't 3 hours long and contains more action scenes. Too much boring dialogue in this one.

The Batman had the best fighting scenes in the franchise. It wasn't an over the top action style movie though and I had no issues with that.

he's only shitting on the movie b/c posters were calling it one of the best batman movies they had ever seen

doubt he's even watched it tbh
Sorry, I should have said he has the mind of a 9 year old with ADHD and ODD.

That was from Gordon, not the city.

If anything, Batman represents fear for most folks in the city.
Douche trying to understand what Batman has always represented is laughable. That stuff has always gone over his head.

It's so amusing to watch folks like GiGi twist themselves into knots trying not to like a movie because of ideological reasons.

I just find it funny that people don't realize the comics were always more than just skin deep...like there is a deeper meaning or there is some kind of message the writer is trying to get across...and that usually translates into the films.

like to get mad that the X Men movies are about social justice...when the X Men have ALWAYS been about minorities in the world and equal rights.

I especially love the 'she's so tiny, there's no way she should be able to throw around a 6' 4" henchman.....' take.

The complaints get weirder and more transparent with time too. My favorite for this one is the “Batman and Alfred are the only white people who aren’t a villain.” When you think about it for more than 2 seconds, you realize the only character they can be referring to is Gordon, whose race as a character has nothing to do with anything.

Of all the levels you can question what leads to someone making such an observation, and why… it also points to a basic shallow take on the story that ignores one of the major themes exploring Batman’s relationship to and similarities with the villains. A theme that’s present in all good Batman adaptations. Even the main hero isn’t supposed to be seen as an infallible/stable/unwavering character.

Dafuq who said that?

TBH I’m not nerdy enough for any of the superhero movies, but I largely hate movies in general so I just want pewpewpew without any subtle hints about 2022 society.

Yes I saw it. It might appeal to a teenager or a dullard like you but I wasn't impressed.

Ideological reasons? Did you see a political message?

That's because you're a shallow human being who can't grasp simple concepts. The same stories in comics can be seen in books, tv shows, plays...there is a depth to the medium that you just don't have the ability to get.

Someone in this thread, go back a page or two. Think Ben Shapiro originally put it out there, or at least amplified it from whoever decided it was an issue with the movie to begin with.
