The College FB Playoff Thread…powered by butthurt

I'm not convinced at all that Bama beats Michigan. I'd pay good money to see that shit. Florida State? fuck outta here
I am not convinced Bama beats Washington. They have arguably the best passing game in the playoffs. Michigan, Texas, and Bama are built along the LOS. Washington is going to spread you out and play in space.. Their defense is questionable, but they have the potential to light up any defense

Wait. How does how you play not matter if you go with the 4 best teams? That's all that matters. Just like it makes playing weak OOC schedules and in weak conferences matter. What it does do is make the W-L record not be the trump card.

FSU didn't play a weak OOC schedule.

They played 2 SEC teams and won both.

Subjective, but weakest?

Of course it is if by that you mean we don't see an almost unbeatable super team waiting to steamroll the two teams they face.

First time we could see any of the teams going in capable of winning it, or at least not a shock if any did.

Most CFP have 1 or maybe 2 real teams and the others are sacrificial lambs.

All we are missing this time is that killer real team. More lambs.

It's nowhere near the weakest.

STFU with your rumors
Says the guy who told me Arch would not come with Quinn on the roster.. to Arch won't stay with his commitment.. to Arch will never see a snap in his first year...

I didn’t say anything about snaps.
And the question regarding his tenure at Texas is still unresolved.

Florida State beat LSU by more than y’all did, and they still have a really good defense.

They play in a P5 conference and went 13-0. You’re basically sending a message that some P5 teams are eliminated from playoff contention before the season even starts regardless of if they win all their games or not.

End of the day, FSU played more P5 teams than Bama did, won all of their games and did everything they needed to do to clinch their spot.

Alabama would obviously beat FSU with a backup QB, but 13-0 is better than 12-1. Chalk it up to a weird year that we probably won’t see another like it for a long time.

The problem with any west coast team v a Bama-like team is the battle of the trenches. The largest and most physical linemen don't typically end up in the Pac in the numbers needed to win the trench warfare.
I'm not sure a UW team can stop the run or slow up the pass rush enough to play their game fully.

If they go on OOC schedules … Michigan will be riding the pine. The very first thing they should look at (for P5 teams) is loses. Then you can argue about the one loss teams. I would put Texas in.

This is as good a year as any to see if they can. This is the best line UW has had in a very long time.

The playoff has been expanded to address this very problem so we probably won't ever see another like this, at least as far as teams of this caliber.

But if we cut the bullshit and get down to it the 4 best teams right now are Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Michigan. Georgia would be favored against any team except *maybe Alabama. Alabama would be favored against any team except *maybe UGA and Texas. And Michigan would be favored against anybody because they already know the plays.

Sorry Florida St

A couple of days ago, everyone was ready to throw 6 feet of dirt on their faces. That didn’t work out. Alabama has shown they could be beaten, Washington has not.

For sure. Can't wait to see how DeBoer handles whatever comes their way. They overcame a 'more talented' Ducks team twice.
Best team on Montlake in at least 23 years, and probably since '91. Just wish their D was a bit more stout.
