TV Series The Last of Us

Just started and this woman just being an asshole to her military death squad people. What gave her power? How exactly did she come to be so powerful in some small post apocalyptic area that she can treat all those dudes with guns like that and no one just turn on her?

Unless they explain that back story then the only way that character makes sense is if it is this lethal looking large dude equipped and highly skilled that others are afraid of him. Not some Karen of a woman.

Seems the flashback style of the show of the first 3 episodes are gone and won't be the structure of the show going forward.

Those are the parts I enjoyed most.

Good episode though. Much better than last week's.

Yeah....the fat lady in charge felt stupid. She didn't come off as intimidating or smart or anything. If you're neither of those I'd think those dudes would just kill you for bitching them out like they were children every time they spoke.

And then she didn't even matter. She got killed almost immediately and by some seriously dumb deus ex machina.

That wasn't as bad as Tommy's baby mamma though. She's young enough to be pregnant (so like 40 tops), but she was still an assistant DA in Omaha with a kid 20 years ago.

Lots of 20 year old assistant DA's with kids in Nebraska in 2003 probably. Lol.

Interesting that you kept the fact that Tommy's wife (not just "baby mama") is black out of this post unlike at EuroHoop...

You seem to hate this show. Why are you watching it? Is it just to shit on it on this thread?

The writing of this last episode really was just bland. The blow up in the bar between brothers seemed contrived. For a video game praised for its story and action I'm not seeing a lot of it translated to the small screen. All that being said it seems to be pretty popular viewing right now and how they take this into an inevitable 2nd season beyond the construct of the game will be the real challenge.

There is more than one game of material.

I’ve been asking kids for spoilers.

Much better to simply turn on and watch rather than fuss about what was in the "game".

I get more nerdy watching this show. The "infection" is a fungus turning these folk into mushroom people eventually. But then you have the whole, "oh look, dried out mushrooms all over this museum, let's stomp on it." Yo....those spores would be completely viable dried out and you breathed that shit in. I know...it fiction...but the more intriguing fiction would be not that you get bitten by zombie mushrooms but that you inhaled your eventual assailant.

Major deviation from the game. Spores fucked your shit up in the game.

That's good to know. I was thinking if they wanted to use fungus as a catalyst, they missed the mark. I guess they thought the general public would be too dumb to notice.

Hard to have a good TV show if all the actors are in masks the whole time...
